Ive had my 4R for a year and 2 weeks. today i brought my car in for 10K oil change. the GM happen to be there and ask if i wanted to know how much my car was worth. he said it would take a few sec. since my car was still new. I was like sure. he took out his phone and took a picture of my vin number and said well give you 57500. my car is 21 blk trd pro with 8800 miles. if i remember right i paid msrp +1000 for tint, wheel locks and something else. I paid 57800 drive out. to be honest i was shocked with the 57500 offer. so after my oil change i drove straight to carmax. their offer was much lower at 55000. heres the big kicker... I have an opportunity to buy a 2019 Audi RS3 with 6700 miles for 40K (my uncle). I dont know if I should keep the 4runner and get a loan for RS3 or sell the 4runner and have no car payments.

Well depends on what you like and want. The 4Runner will retain its value where the Audi will not.

That^, plus you'll probably make up for the difference in repairs - or maybe you get lucky and it turns out to be a good car. It's german, afterall.
But it is what YOU want and need. Two different vehicles with totally different expectations.
We are selling ours this year, at around 3 years anniversary. Going electric. We figured out after 2 years we dont really offroad that much and the highway ride is not exactly glamorous.
No car payments are awesome !

Sell the 4R. Buy your uncle’s Audi. KBB on it is between 56,500 and 60,000. Sell it and buy whatever suits you.

I stayed single lol. But seriously if it’s feasible for both for the OP, I think it’s the best of both worlds. I love the 4Runner though

It depends on what you want and/or need. Personally, I have zero use for any car. So, for me, buying the Audi wouldn't be a consideration unless to resell it and make money, which wouldn't be cool to your uncle. You're in a different situation and have different wants than I do, or most others do. If you're a car guy and don't off road your Pro, why not.

I don't think I'd buy a car as a daily driver because it's 'highly collectible'. You're not buying it for its resale value, are you? If so, you already have excellent resale value in the 4R. If you just want the car, buy it, but don't let 'collectibility' factor into your decision. That's just an assumption on future value.

You should consider holding on to the $10K equity. Since that was his original offer he may not need toe money or may be trying to give you a break that he can afford. In any case, good luck with your choice.

Sel the 4Runner and buy the Audi if that’s what your into.. the market will not stay this way forever so take advantage of it while you can.
I’ve had my 4Runner for a month and am already trying to ditch it. Probably go back into an accord 2.0t . The runner is just way to slow .
    Just do you.

Audiworld and VwVortex are probably going to give you more 'attaboys' than a 4runner forum. Most of us here love our 4runners and consider them to be quite worth keeping despite their downfalls and weaknesses. Most who post that I bought it but 'it's too slow' or the 'fuel economy surprised me' are either unable to read window stickers are just failed to to a proper test drive prior to purchase.

We traded my wife's Audi S6 in on a Polestar2. After 60K it seemed like every 5k I was putting $4000 or more into it. It had a bad coolant leak (known issue but no recall) in the end and we traded before we needed to fix it.

2 totally different rides. If you can afford/tolerate the maintenance of an RS3 and don’t need the 4Runner…. Go for it.

But do you need a reliable daily driver? Personally, I think the Audi would be better suited as a 2nd car. I don’t hear too many stories about high mileage RS cars…

Personally, I wouldn't touch any German car with a 10 pole, but I get that some people like them. I'm sure they're great to drive while they're in warranty.

If your 4Runner's paid off outright, and you sell it and pay cash for the Audi, I don't see anything wrong with that. On the other hand, to keep the 4Runner and shell out another 40K for the Audi just as a fun car doesn't really seem like a wise financial decision unless you're rolling in money and can pay cash for it.

That's just me though, I've gotten pretty tight with money over the last couple years and that's how I look at things now.
