Makes me wonder what came of my ‘21 ORP that got destroyed with 600 miles on it.

It's a 4Runner. They probably drove it from the scene of the crash to the junkyard

Oh man, I had to like it to dislike it. Looks like the air bags deployed, hopefully you didn't get hurt.

I bet it was sold at auction, "fixed" and is now driving around as a salvaged/rebuilt title. What was the VIN?

Don’t blame you for disliking. While living in Humboldt is great in many ways, getting medical care is not one of them. Eureka has around 45,000 people, but is the only real hospital for a huge area owing to how remote it is. They don’t call it the Lost Coast for nothing. My shoulder is shot on my left side which was the side the it was flipped on.

Huge bummer as it has kept me from going off tarmac as much as I want to.
Moved around 700 miles straight down the coast so that I can deal with the wreck stuff.

When was your crash? I handled a MGM 4Runner in a side roll crash at...mmmm... I want to say 6th and H (?) and it had damage consistent with yours. The 'T' in the grille broke cleanly off and I actually still have it in my garage. I left Eureka PD in July 2021.

You are correct. That is a Southern Style Offroad bumper, not an RCI bumper.

It had to be mine and it was I think the end of June. I can only imagine the things you saw working there. That is amazing.

Driving in Eureka felt more dangerous than any place I have driven Stateside. Between all the One Way streets, homeless population who seemingly are trying to get hit by a car, and fun loving populace, and….

I realize the comment about people jumping out to get hit might be controversial, but almost every local I know warned me of just that and multiple times I had folks do just that.

It was a crazy place. I am not from California, I moved out there in 2016 and worked 5 years for EPD before I had basically had enough - and/or they had enough of me! Moved back home to Ohio in July and it's been a breath of fresh air. And yes, one of the most dangerous places to drive IMO. I saw some insane crashes. Amazing how many rollovers there are in the city... and how many hit and runs there are, too.

    Sounds like we both escaped!

It was an oversight! I threw bigger debris in my trunk and found it later. I wasn't going to disrespect the 4R and throw it away!

Just realized though we moved in July I was not working for a few months prior to the move so I guess it wasn't me after all.

The rest of my commentary on Eureka holds true though!

For real. Crazy as I loved the Victorian I had so much that I really thought it might be the last house.

It really is unlike anywhere else I have been and the weather in the Summer might be close to perfect, but…. But driving there was simply beyond.

Come on guys, no mention of why all the crazy drivers, people trying to get hit by cars and red light runners? It should've been cannabis County. There's probably more cannabis farms there than the population.

While that reputation is well deserved, meth and fentanyl seem to be what causes the most batshittery.
