So I found out that my failed smog was due to having no compression in cylinder 6 and I’m taking the engine apart to send the cylinder heads in to get resurfaced and valve or valves fixed, but this darn power steering pump pulley is giving me a hard time. I at least got the nut off but I can’t seem to get the pulley off and I can’t figure out how to use the pulley removal tool, any advice would be appreciated on how to get it off without bending the pulley

Did you do a compression test and a leak down test? You sure it's not the piston rings?

Yes, I had those tests done when having it diagnosed. They traced it down to the valve being the issue. I was able to get that pulley off as well, I’m working on disconnecting the crossover pipe now

I recently replaced my PS pump and the pulley was a challenge. I used a puller but it started to bend the pulley which is pretty soft. So I used penetrating oil and then applied pressure with the puller and then wedged it out by using a large screwdriver between the rear of the pulley and the pump at the pulley shaft. It finally gave up and slipped off.
