Does anyone here have any experience with the TRD ORP with the MTM, and whether or not the Meso Customs Puddle Lights work with an MTM equipped mirror.

PS - I love the MTM!!! Everybody has backup cameras these days, but being able to see over the hood of a vehicle this tall ain't happening for me, so having the front camera to keep me from accidentally crunching a car in the parking space in front of me, whilst letting me get as far into my space as I can, is fabulous!

Loving my new baby, and these great forums!

The MTM system is new. There's no specific puddle lights from Meso just yet and just from looking at the mirror, the current Meso panel isn't going to work with MTM.

Idk man, seems like low quality cameras being used.

I have a new '22 ORP with MTM. Image quality is not HD by any means. I do like it but images are only OK.

I wonder if the cameras could be replaced with something better easily?

My 22 ORP has it. Would love greater resolution but I don't think it would make the system any more effective.

The resolution is good enough to accomplish the task it's designed to.

I am very glad to have it.

I wish it was standard on the ‘22 ORP- mine incoming doesn’t have it and that’s one of the features I was looking forward to when I was still getting the pro!

Perhaps it could be retrofitted as an accessory at some point??

I think it's better than not but one would think that the image would be better. I mean gee, Japan, home of high end cameras and lenses.

I checked out the front grill where the front camera is and it appears that it would require a different grill with MTM and the safety sense plate. The camera is molded into the grill itself.
Fingers crossed for a system update? Yeah, I know, wishful thinking. I'm still glad my truck came with it.

I like the MTM in my '22 ORP. That said the resolution doesn't bother me hell I can't see the difference between 1080p and 4k with these old eyes. I do like the low light capability of the system as well as the view feature which shows how close I am anything in front. I'll use my mirrors to back down my driveway first anyways rather than rely staring at an info screen filled with multi colored lines any day of the week. I'm sure the system shines best for off roading in tight quarters which is it's original purpose anyway.

I think I found the solution to my OP...

Morimoto Puddle Bulb replacements... They go where the stock bulb holder goes, and run off the stock wires...

    Morimoto Puddle Bulbs.jpg

Going to get a pair, and will do an install/review thread... For $40 I figure I can't go too far wrong...

arent these only for 10-13? let us know how it works out! worst case scenario we can stick the brightest t10 led we could find, though a custom panel like the meso and morimoto would be nice.

Where is the front camera mounted? I like this idea a lot and my Alpine head unit will support 2 cameras. Hmmm…

I mounted mine just below the TRD Pro style grille. It works great!

I can't even get access to the puddle light or turn signal to swap out for sequential and led puddle light upgrade. I got the mirror and top cap off but the housing going around the new mtm camera is attached to the trim that houses the puddle light and turn signal and i didn't want to go any further because things were starting to get sketchy. Has anyone had success swapping these out on 4runners equipped with mtm? Is there any videos. I've done a deep dive on youtube with no success

I did this about a month ago on my 2022 with MTM. No clips broken, just a lot of wiggling and being careful. This is the process I used since I hate taking the mirrors off https://youtu.be/RZocdicY3So

The camera quality/clarity is awful. Very grainy on my 22 TRD Pro and thats for all cameras that came with the vehicle

I used the 400 lumen lasfit. I'm not sure how they compare to the vled but it's plenty bright. It's more cool than warm though so that's something you'll have to consider.

You're not missing much honestly. The quality is really bad on mine compared to my 2020 and the 2020 was pretty bad. The only cool thing is in low range you finally get an inclonometer. I camp remote a fair amount and thought the front camera would have came in more handy than it actually has

Yeah, I agree about the mtm cameras. I could take em or leave em. Quality is low

    Hello @Yankee Boy,

Don’t order them as they will not fit your 14+ 4Runner. I ordered the same for mine and they are not the correct application.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
