What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Hardwired this outdoor light to be turned on from inside primarily for when unfamiliar noise is heard outside, hopefully, to scat away whatever it is.

Helped recover 2 vehicles (Jeep and F250).
What did I learn today… my mud terrain tires actually kicked butt today. They weren’t as bad as I thought. 13-14 PSI.
What I learned… use low gear when recovering. I put extra unnecessary stress on the poor thing… but surely learned my lesson the first time and didn’t repeat that mistake on the F250 pull (Granted it was a lot easier).

 

The interior looks like it is the same as the Rav 4 and the exterior is good except the roof rack is sitting so high. Is it to much to ask for a good low profile roof rack?

 

Amen on the low profile roof rack. 3/8” roof clearance and 2” high rails, relocate/eliminate the shark fin - simple.

I suck at welding, so a friend helped me out getting my panhard bar angle right. Finally got the damn thing out of my tool box. lol No more pothole ass wiggle!

 

Pedal Commander install - works surprisingly well and the phone app is a nice touch

 

Modding my Jerry can holder added a platform to carry my table and a few quick fists and super fists. Also relocated cb antenna

Installed the map and dome lights from meso as well as the black housing depot tail lights from usr. The factory tail lights were harder to remove than expected. BTW meso is releasing redesigned interior door handle covers any day now. Cali raised off road has them for pre order. Map and dome lights are still available on caliraisedoffroad

 

Man it’s on the list lol. Gonna start them as soon as I get the first coat of paint on my carrier. Also having a tough time inch worming my cb coax to reach. So many half finished projects not enough time lol

I love mine. I have had mine for over a year now. I run Sport +1 with my 285/70/17s. I put some velcro on the inside of the kick panel and stuck it there out of the way. Keeps me from playing with it (out of sight out of mind).

 

I wonder why cali raised has them on their site but meso doesn't have the interior door handle covers.
Looking forward to grabbing a pair.

 

Cali is a dealer for them. You can see it listed on mesocustoms.com. I'm assuming they have an allocation coming in within the next week or so and they've just decided to offer pre orders. Meso will prob post a notification on there site a day before they come in just like they did with the map lights. Others offered the map lights on pre order prior to meso releasing them. Meso has told me in email to expect a release any day. They also confirmed the hatch lights are still being made and released at some point. They have a shipment of redesigned handle covers and dome lights they expect to receive any day. That's from them

The map lights will be released any day. They showed up yesterday and we tested them today. The handles are in redesign production and should be shipping to us any day too. Dome lights should be shipped to us with the door handles.

This was like a week before they released the map lights. I'd suggest you pre order when you can. Meso sold out of map light stock within 3 or 4 hours

 

I take them straight and they sometimes turn when I upload them. Idk what’s going on lol

14SR5 3rd row seating - I routed front and rear dashcam wiring and am laying wires for underseat lighting

Rear cam wire over the headliner. The rear cam will be mounted on a small square of plexiglass held in with the headliner "rivet."

Power, including parking mode and a wire for door-controlled fade-on/fade-off footwell lights through the passenger-side A pillar. This is my 5th Toyota dashcam install, first time ever using the passenger side.

I've completely removed the center console for wire routing of the underseat zones. I'll be using blue illuminated switches and bright white LEDs.

I also spray painted the console cover with hammered aluminum spray paint. Not a color match, just a durability experiment.

Instead of searching for the door light circuit wires, I just jumped them off the bulb base. The LEDs fade along with the dome & map lights.

Purchased the tech and general ham training course offered by ham radio prep. Hope to get that all finished up and tests passed in the next couple weeks

 

I did the same thing and bought the same course. I got 1/2 way through it then started learning about electronic circuits with breadboards, Morse code, etc. I need to get back on it.

 

Waiting till the 19th when the gmrs license price drops from 70 to 35 bucks. Might as well go legit with it too

 

Oh wow… I didn’t know that. Yeah I will get my gmrs and technician ham. Covered on most ends.

 

Also if you study for ur tech and the general license. Which is an upgrade from the tech license. You can take both tests back to back at the same time for only one testing fee.

so even if you fail the second one you still walk out with the tech license. With no loss in test costs for the upgrade

I replaced the OEM puddle lights with Lasfit 194 168 T10 LED bulbs. Easy and bright.
