Bought my 4R in January just hit 1K miles. Shipped it because I’m moving and while detailing, I noticed yellow stain coming down the side windows. Anyone have an idea what could be happening? Asked Toyota where I bought and they never seen something like this before. Unfortunately couldn’t take it to them to look at because I need it to beat me to Colorado. It’s hard to notice but definitely there. Curious if anyone has ran into the issue and what the outcome was.

The stain was from before shipping it? Have you attempted to use anything to get it off?

Does it wipe off easily? Maybe just residue from the window sealant. Still, should not happen though.

I know some folks had issue with iron deposits (from shipping on rail cars and rail dust). I wonder if that is what you have. I would maybe try some light bug and tar or a very very mild rubbing compound. I would try a very small spot first or go to a car detailer. I have seen similar posts and white vehicles particularly with this stuff. Wish I had more advice

It was prior to shipping. I was cleaning it to ship and saw it.

the guy inspecting the vehicle with me tried some of the polish that rids of tar and definitely paint stained.

Yeah that’s what the shipping inspector and my thought was. Definitely taking it to Toyota soon as I pick it up in Denver

Is the 4Runner super white? I would start with a polish. That should remove it. Be warned that super white is a bitch for stains. I love our '16 4runner but hate that it is white.

It’s possible it was on a car transporter and something leaked from a vehicle above it and stained the paint. Could be oil, differential fluid, etc.

A more insidious problem might be if there is some rust along the window seal and it’s bleeding out.

In my neighborhood tree pollen from pine trees early summer would wash down during a rain and do this but waxing would clean it up on my black paint.
