I have a 2022 4Runner with the sliding rear deck option and I’m about to start installing a factory subwoofer enclosure with an upgraded subwoofer and aftermarket amp. In order to get the rear passenger side panel off to get access to the factory subwoofer mounting location. Do I need to remove the rear sliding cargo deck completely?

I just went through this. You don’t have to remove the sliding cargo deck but you might as well so you can install dynamat on the trunk floor. I placed it on the floor, the inner fender the subwoofer enclosure fits in and also inside the rear hatch. Lots of work but so worth it. The 8” JL sub plays with authority and you can’t tell it’s not factory unless the system is playing music of course. The factory sub was dead weight. I replaced all the JBL speakers and deleted the ones in the rear hatch. The performance of the new system is incredible. PM me and I can share details.

I think a lot of members would be interested in your set up, I can’t think of a reason for you not to share your upgrade here, but if not it’s all good.
