Upgraded the Interior Lights

I go camping a lot in places where at night the only Light is the Stars and the Moon So you provide the rest,

Well when you need to get something from inside the 4Runner the hand held flash light works but leaves a lot to be desired and then there is that wearable head lamp oh crap I hate those things you have to remember the freaking batteries or like a pair I have to remember to recharge them so away with them!

It took a bit of a wait to get the MeSoCustoms lights but worth it check out the pictures super easy to install and look good too, I did the Map lights and Dome light in back, You can see the difference in the pictures oh yeah I went with the dual color ones.

I was waiting for these for about 6 months, ended up selling the 4runner. Meso has great products but never has stuff in stock. He prioritizes tacomas sadly.

True, That is the problem with a 1 person business that does quality work or makes a excellent product it can be very hard to keep up with the demand. and he does prioritize Tacoma's because that is what he drives So basically that gives him the vehicle to get the items from to reverse engineer and try them out on but His Tacoma stuff runs out of stock too.

When I had My Tacoma and got my first map and dome light set they were 3D printed and so now he has moved up from there with a lot of items so they are injection molded small business take time and money to grow I hope he does it without loosing the Quality of the products.

 

He's not a 1 man team.... but you're right quality over quantity. I just think 6-7 months is way too long.

Agree with that, if Anyone going to publish what they have for sale then it should be available within a reasonable time frame and if it is out of stock a target of back in stock 4 to 6 weeks. To me it looks like they purchase a certain amount of material or stock sell it out then start it all over again with the returns from the sales and that is typical for very small fledgling business with limited working capital.

MESO Customs started in 2018 and I can not imaging that they are making that much revenues yet. I know before 2018 he had a very small offering and it was great deal of 3D printed items at the time, none of this I post here is an excuse for them thought just my observations from his Y-Tube videos and having my own business I am aware of what it takes to do it.

 

Wouldn't you guys rather the item be out of stock, wait 6 months for it to become available vs the company continuing to take on orders they can't fill?

 

oh Absolutely! Hate companies that take orders and $$ when they know they can not fill the order.

 

MESO make outstanding quality product. You can't buy out of stock items on their wed site. You can ask to be notified when item is available. I waited, got e-mail from MESO, went to the site, ordered and 3 days later got my dome light. Perfect fit and finish:

 

Does anyone have experience with other types of LED bulbs? I want to put LED in the Back tail gate door and the side doors MESO Customs does not offer anything for those areas yet I keep hearing about problems with some "drop in" type LED bulbs and do not want to have those issues while out camping.

 

I ran diode leds, very bright and no flickering. My cousin has a trd pro like mine but runs cheap ebay ones that flicker all the time. I don't see the logic in a buying a 50k+ car and running cheap stuff.

 

What brand are you running? I been websurfing looking at different ones but no idea yet who is good to purchase from and No Ebay stuff.

I have the meso v2 dome light. It's not 6000K white for those who are interested. Slightly warmer

also I just used cheap Amazon LED kit for everything as I’m waiting for MESO and they have been hood so far. Can figure out how to change the glovebox light though lol.

how did you get the map light bulbs out?? i've tried everything

 

Some people apply duct tape or electrical tape around the bulb, making a tab like a handle to pull it straight out.

I’ve applied grippy soft tape to needle nose pliers to *gently* grip the bulb and pull it out.

 

So you're the same 4Runner from that blog post. Unfortunately, it looks like they are pushing this project behind other priorities. I reached out a few months ago asking for updates and they said they have no plan on releasing these in the near future. I'd love to get my hands on a set since their dome and map lights work great. Maybe you can push them to prioritize these hatch lights?

I'll bring it up to him again. We had a small issue with fitment but that's all being resolved. I can say some other cool stuff is in the works but can't say much more.
