I was doing homework. In a coil spring suspension they keep the axle in place. In a leaf spring suspension, the spring does this. The offset on one end keeps the link from binding. Longer links will move the axle back to the original wheelbase if you modify ride height.
    Info was found here-

Yep basically. For my application with kdss, it won't get better travel from the rear due to kdss being the limiting factor. It will give me smoother travel and the offset at the axle mount will prevent binding at extreme travel. They are adjustable (don't really need that) but most importantly they are so much stronger. The lowers can take a beating

I read mention of folks actually "sleeving" stock ones, but I think the beefier route is the way to go. Those billet ones are steep!

Yeah I wasn't much for the billet ones. Too much bling. Besides the "eventual" heim maintenance these steel ones are maintenance free. It's a big reason why I didn't get the resz fab ones I posted above.

You 5th Gen is looking BA. I love it, It's clean. Can I throw something out there for you. Look at Raceline wheels. They cost a little more up front but I'm telling you right now. The first time you air down to 3PSI and pull your self out of some crazy stuff will will be so thankful. Get the real beadlock wheels. I miss mine every day man. Just having that flexibility is HUGE! The customer service is outstanding too.

    Thank you.

I really like the race line wheels. I also believe the 17/8.5 monster with 5" bs would be a great fit. However at $450 each.... OUCH! I'm not so sure the cost vs. benefits works out for me. But then again, a few overtime shifts can justify it!

Also, they are 42 lbs each. I don't like that part at all.

No, 42lbs? I don't remember them being that heavy. PS call them direct for a better deal. That is retail price just FYI. Catch my drift. I guess I never worried about having a solid axle, lol.

Yeah it's 42lbs. When you scroll down to sizing specs it is listed.

Pros and cons to both style wheels. I just don't see the need for true beadlocks in my future at this point. That may change after I get some good off road time in it. We'll see

For those that wonder about why icon is trying to sell you an adjustable track bar that clears the kdss.

    IMG_0458.jpg IMG_0462.jpg

Does not limit wheel travel, just makes a little contact.

Rear lower links installed, with the link skids. Makes me want uppers now due to really noticing that the uppers are twigs.

Awesome this is what the Pro should strive to be!!! used to run dr's long travel and total chaos UCA's on my tundra. Suspension was much more supple. the pro suspension feels mushy. then again I wanted a turnkey truck that I take to the dealer instead of having my rig up on stands in the front of my house. haha

Gotta agree these are one of the best all around all-terrains even better than the BFG in my opinion.

Nitto's smoke BFG tires. I got my first set back in 2006 and have never looked back.

Yup, never even looked at Nittos or Toyo, but will now as they are apparently popular for good reason.

Much better tire. Initial layers are spiral wound instead of overlapping. This give the tire greater uniformity.

$279. I didn't get them because I found the icon steel ones to be a better match for my wants and needs.

Hadn't had a chance to be able to tell much difference. Honestly there probably won't be much besides being stronger. Kdss is the limiting factor.

    Thank you.

My truck had 4 different lifts on it so this time I decided to start at the top.

The 6112's are a solid choice with a smaller price tag.
