    Hey all,

Question for those who have a lift and aftermarket UCA's. Can or should any tire shop be able to dial in a proper alignment even though I do not have OEM upper control arms? I have a 3/2 lift with SPC's and my 'local' 4x4 shop is saying only they can do proper alignments in this scenario but also state they have no open appointments until May which I find absurd. I was going to purchase the tires through them as well but they also said May for that as well. Thoughts?

Hard to tell until you get your truck back and it's leaning two inches to the right. Most of them will tell you they can do it, and they can, but just not right. I'd start calling them and talk to them about it and see what their responses are and go with the best one. Read all the reviews you can if you don't know any mechanics in the area that you can ask about it.

Depends on the Tire Shop. I recently just put some Cooper STT Pro 315/70/17r tires on the Runner. Went back to the shop that installed my suspension. Had them do a Body Mount Chop, Viper Cut, mounting-balancing, and alignment. They did an amazing job. Alignment is spot on. I had to do some extra trimming at home, so the front tires wouldn’t rub.

But the answer to your question is “YES” if you find the right tire shop. Yelp or reading reviews will be your best friend!

Call and ask. Some have experience, some don’t. Luckily the shop I use has experience with aftermarket setups and off-road stuff.

Yep, I'd come up with some good pointed questions to ask as that will help you figure out if they know what they're talking about or not

    Lots of goodies
This is a good time to get under there, clean stuff off, paint pen a couple registration marks on your cam bolts & plates to record your start point, grab a 19mm and a 22mm and start turning stuff to learn how it works (it is quite simple). Fire up the youtubes and learn to DIY so at least you can get it close enough to be safe and not eat your tires until May (ridiculous) if you can’t find some other nearby shop to align it. SPC UCAs are very straight-forward in their adjustments…pretty much monkey-proof. Crawl under there and turn stuff!
