Hello from the GTA in Ontario, Canada

First time stepping into the off road community. A black 4Runner TRD Off Road ordered yesterday, with an ETA July.

I have 2016 V6 Toyota Venza that had engine rebuilt under warranty at a Toyota dealership in Sept 2019. They had my vehicle for over a month so I got to rent an SUV available. I ended up with a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. What a different driving experience, definitely not boring. Really started thinking about getting one, subscribing to all the YouTube channels. The 2nd last day I had it was very poor weather and a long road trip on the hwy. Well, not so enjoyable for that drive unless sticking to just at speed limit or slightly slower. I was happy to get my Venza back. The bug stuck with me and I finally started looking 2 months ago to make a purchase. Crazy pricing! From YouTube I saw a few 4Runner builds, started looking more at it and realized the excellent reliability, dependability, refinement compared to Jeeps. Made in Japan at a Lexus and Landcruiser factory, uncommon on our roads here, and high residual value … I’m in! My goal is mild overlanding out the gate, with only mild mods to avoid warranty voiding. Tires/rims, RSG kick out side rails, roof rack (unsure which one), speakers/sub, and front window tint. I’m a hobbiest woodworker so I’ll build a removable platform in back for inside sleeping, and kitchen drawer stuff.
