    Hello!

I have a 2000 4Runner, that has a few small mods done (deck plate, external trans cooler, trd wheels and tires) and I’m finally looking to get a lift. My brother just purchased a 5th gen and immediately put on a level kit which bought him a couple inches of lift in the front and the back however he needed an alignment. After bringing it in, they told him he would need camber adjustment something or another and that brings me to my next question. My 4Runner has about 180k on it now, and the suspension is showing it’s age. I’d really rather replace it all at this point, and funny enough the lift I have had my eye on (Bilstein/OME Stage 1 Lift Kit - 3rd Gen 4Runner (1996-02) - YotaMafia ) came with free front coil and shock assembly YESTERDAY but now it’s back to $190 . While I may be waiting to purchase now, I have never seen the question answered: can I pair this kit with a level kit to get even more lift? Or is this going to dive into deeper water such as mandatory UCA replacement with adjustables, panhard, etc etc. I got excited when it was $799 out the door but now it would be back up to $1000ish. Sigh. Any and all info is helpful. I know lift questions get asked all the time, which only makes it harder for me to navigate. Thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply! I should have mentioned as well, I am 2wd as most the driving I do is up north camping and then sleeping in the back of the 4r! I’ll give it a read through and see if it answers any of my questions. Thanks again!

Well, I’m realizing that maybe there’s a lot more to replace that just simply shocks/coils . I didn’t originally want to go with spacers/level kit because I know that basically preloads your shocks and makes the rid shittier. However, I didn’t realize if I went with the lift I linked that so many other parts were in questions (control arms, ball joints, panhard kit, etc).

That search that was posted earlier had a ton of in depth info.

Did you not care to read it? I know cause some of that stuff was information I provided.

As another member said, a lot is archived and repeated. The information is still valid as no new companies have replaced any of the lift kits that have been available for many years already.

thanks for the reply! I gave that link a click and read through some of the posts but it was hard for me to navigate, and I wasn’t sure I was reading what was intended to be . You sharing the individual posts helps me a lot, so thank you for taking the time to do that. Thanks everyone for the help, I greatly appreciate it!!!

Just touches on a lot of things at once, that's all.

Save yourself money and install your kit yourself, just make sure you get it aligned right after.
