I know, but driving to the trails, you can save some money. Because the moment you get excited with gas, it will not take long to start getting 17 miles per gallon. I once got 17 mpg in my stock. I once was doing 89 mph on I-90 where the speed limit is 80, I got 14 MPG

that's what I was thinking too... with stock size (E load) AT tires I was getting about 15, now with E load 285's I'm just under 14, and that is driving pretty conservatively. only had the stock tires on for a couple days, but I can't imagine I would have gotten 18 or more, like some claim. must live somewhere flat and completely focus on driving for MPG.

The 24 MPG that I got was on a flat Highway and I was driving at 65 mph. In the city, it was horrible, I was getting like 13, because Seattle is very hilly

Any time I've gotten over 20 I was driving 70 MPH or less. The best was at 55-65, and no cruise control.

I've never averaged that high long term. When it was new and pretty stock, I averaged 18-ish. Now, I average 14-15.

Piece of cake for the 4Runner, but I did not have the 4Runner in that snow, so I was stuck at home for a week

No. I mean that when you switch to LT/E mud tires and full armor your mileage suffers. :D

Quick question. The Suburban and some F-150s have some plastic thingy below the front bumper. Why is that? If you remove that, their approach angle will be much better. With that plastic thingy, their approach angle is as bad as a Camry's lol

I think it's supposed to improve fuel economy. I can't say whether it works. :notsure:

If the fuel saved is substantial, then we could put one of those in the 4Runner and then remove it once we are on the trail.

I've thought about a removable one for road trips. A few extra Mpg will add up!

    Mmmhmm. Sure will.

    Lots of goodies
15.4 on 285s and about 400 lbs of stuff added. Nothing I do seems to change it. When I reset it, it ends up back at 15.4 in a few days and stays there.
