I drove from the Idaho/Washington border to Seattle, and then back. I stayed at the posted speed limit both ways, despite being honked at and flipped off by multiple drivers.

I have 33" tires, a roof rack, lift, and no engine mods other than a K&N air filter.

I have made this trip multiple times before in the past couple of years and I always average 15.7 mpg.

This time, I average 16.7 mpg.

No idea if it was the milder Goodyear Ultra Terrains, or the K&N filter, or the 5 mph lower cruise speed.

I had to laugh at your experience of driving at the speed limit. If you drive the speed limit in Ontario, Canada, you will also seriously piss people off, and it's actually putting yourself in real danger of an accident because your a moving roadblock.

It's because you drove slower. Last spring, I got 19.9 MPG on 295 MT's by driving 55 MPH (in a 55 zone). With the same setup, I get 12-13 at 80+.

I sometimes drive under the speed limit (60-65 in a 70)on the freeway (towing or when I have kayaks on the roof) and just stay in the right lane. People can fuck off if they have an issue with it.

    Spoken like a true Badger.

I average 18-19 mpg doing 70 on the flat interstate.
