I just bought a 2004 SR5 with check engine lights and two mechanics recommendations of the entire engine needs replacement. I'm excited to learn if I can do it myself oh, and whether it might be something more simple, for example the notorious head gasket failure.

    Thanks guys.
Can someone help me find a source for parts for a head gasket replacement job?

Yesterday I pulled the timing chain cover. Compared to a Chevy V 8 the difference is astounding. Everything is bolted together with everything else in the 1gr-fe. No stamped metal parts either. Definitely made to last.
