2012 4 Runner How to Black Out?

I apologize in advance if this has been answered before. Just a Dad trying to help his son black out a 2012 SR5 (we are thinking of buying) and know nothing about it. He wants all chrome covered/removed. Is that possible on a 2012? I see where you can buy the logos but what about the chrome on the grill area? Roof?

 

Your best bet for the chrome badges will be overlays from Amazon or something. As far as the grill and the trim pieces on bumper/door panels I think a lot of the early 5th gen guys use plasti dip.

 

Same truck as mine! Looks terrible! Lmao Needs more black! I used Krylon on everything but the strips around the belly. I used 1” wide gloss black trim tape from Amazon for that since it is going to be all gone eventually anyway when I add bumpers. Incidentally, the tape has held up better than the paint.

 

I didn’t need no stinking side badges. I know what I have, no need to advertise or impress anyone. And easier to wash and wax. Removed them with dental floss and cleaned up leftover adhesive goo with solvent.
