    Hello Everyone;

    I have owned 4 runners for the last 20+ years and I recently bought a 2021 4Runner Limited. It looks like it's always in 4wheel drive which is something that I am not used to since I used to drive a 2012 SR5 4x4. My daughter is prone to motion sickness and in the rear of the car it feels really jerky (especially on concrete roads) and she is complaining of there being a lot more motion than my previous car. The ride also feels much jumpier than my old 4runner. Is there anything I can do minimize that and make it feel less jumpy? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    The all-time 4wd shouldn't affect the ride that much if at all. I'm not sure what the issue is, almost sounds as if it was a normal 4x4 in 4hi

    Make sure it's in H4F, not 4HL.

    Your Limited is AWD as stated above check to make sure it's in H4F. When I picked up my Limited it use to wander quite a bit and cause some sway. If that's what your experiencing you might want to have the alignment checked. You might need more caster. You want the caster to be on the upper end of spec, so around 4 degrees of caster.

    Very strange. I don't feel any change driving back to back.

    And having it in H4F is important else you will feel lot of resistance turning just like 4H in dry pavement in SR5 / TRD.

    I'm wondering if it has nothing to do with the four-wheel drive system, but perhaps the different suspension set up and 20-in wheels give it a harsher ride? I don't know, never been in a Limited, so it's just a guess.

    My first guess would be the 20" wheels/tires coupled with the Xreas suspension. Not much forgiving sidewall. Mine is pretty tight also, but I like that. 17" wheels with quality tires may be a solution for a softer ride.

    Could be overinflated tires.

    Thank you everyone! The tires were overinflated and the road I was on was a little rough. I think the problem is solved. I was thinking of getting it lifted (leveling) and wanted to know how that affects the ride, handling and performance of the vehicle.

    Drink less coffee before you drive. Just kidding.

    I removed XREAS and lifted 2.5feont & 1.5rear with Toytec 2.5in springs + 1.5in spacer in rear with Bilstien5100 shocks. I miss the onroad comfort I had with XREAS now keeping my eye on good onroad comfort suspension. Looks like all suspension lift gives firm/sports car like feeling and focus on offroad performance.
