    Murphy's Law.....I guess.

I read tons and tons of forum threads prior to purchasing a lift, rims and new tires. NOT ONCE did I see anyone mentioning 275/70-17s rubbing with the Bilstein 6112/5100 B12 2 inch/1 inch 6/4 lift.

As a matter of fact, I read the opposite. There were tons of folks mentioning how 275s will definitely NOT rub with a 2"/1" lift. Well, I'm here to tell you I had the rims, tires and lift installed properly and everything measures out correctly and my tires rub. I haven't had the chance to see how bad and where it is happening, but it seems to only happen in reverse even prior to full turn.

    Here are all the mods:

    TRD 17" Gloss Gray Rims
    Falken Wildpeak A/T3W LT275 /70 R17 114S C1 BSW tires
Bilstein 6112/5100 with B12 rear coils mounted in the 6/4 slots

I had Shock Surplus mount the new coils on the 6112s.

I measured the height of the fender well at each corner prior to any mods and then after everything was installed....same size rims, larger tires and the lift. All the mods raised the front about 2 1/2 inches and the rear about 1 1/2 inches...give or take.

The lift is pretty much what I was expecting....about a 1/2 inch from the tires and 2 inches from the 6112 6/4 lift.... 2 1/2 inches total.

Anyway, just wanted to put this out there so folks see it. I'll add more info later.

What are your alignment specs? I would say that has a bigger role than anything else at this point. Stock UCA’s? If your caster is at stock setting, then I wouldn’t be surprised your experiencing rubbing in reverse. I would guess it’s rubbing on your mud flaps if you have them still and/or the rocker panel.

My alignment specs? I have no idea...whatever Toyota dialed in. It tracks perfect. Yes, stock UCAs. The 6/4 6112/5100 B12 lift doesn't require changing out the UCAs. I'm not here to find out why because it rides wonderfully. The Falken Wildpeaks are quiet, have less rollover than the crappy stock Dunlops and 6112/5100 improved the ride. I'm just here to state what no other person stated...that 275s can rub even with a significant lift.

When I find out where, I'll post a follow-up with pictures.

You probably won't rub with the stock wheels which have more positive offset pulling the tires inboard about 0.43". Also not all tires of the same size have the same dimensions. The Wildpeaks have a very wide tread for a given size and can increase the chance for rubbing.

Yep, the Wildpeaks are wider in the tread area than some other 275s or so I've heard. I believe the TRD Pro rims have a slightly different offset as well. I'll post pics later showing the rub areas. I just wanted to let everyone know this exact combo rubs.

Your alignment plays a huge role post lift. If your caster isn’t set close to 4 degrees, your tire will be positioned closer to the rear. Stock UCA’s don’t have much adjustability. Anything more than 2” of lift up front you may need to UCA’s to get a good alignment. Wheel specs and alignment are what matters most when it comes to eliminating tires rubbing, not so much how the amount of lift.

Looks like you’re rubbing on the front fender liner. Super easy fix, and rubbing would be expected at full wheel lock.

Yeah. I'll get the blow torch out later and round off the tires.

Lol, you can just push the fender liner forward.

I have a 1.7 lift in front with falken 275.70.17. Only rub backing at full lock. Minor but loud when it happens. How are you all moving the liner? Heat or refastening liner ?

Could it be the oem TRD wheels as they don't have a negative offset.

Your lift has nothing to do with rubbing (or preventing rubbing).

It's the combination of your TRD wheels (more specifically the lower offset), your larger tires, and your alignment.

Pro's get the fender liner mod at the port because of the lower offset wheels added.......and they still come with 265s.

Get the fender liner mod and have your caster pushed as far forward as it can go. I'm guessing it will be somewhere around +3.2 degrees with a 2" lift up front. That should get rid of the rub.

I didn't like the look so later I cut that part for a cleaner look.

I know what size tires OP has. I said almost. Wildpeaks run larger than your "normal" 275 AT.

I'm not sure the intent of this or if you genuinely have no idea what you're talking about or what I'm referring to. Wildpeaks generally run slightly larger (wider and taller) than the same size AT alternatives, namely K02's and others.

285/70/17 Falken WP on stock rims, 2” lift front, 1.5 lift rear and no rub. Yes I know, I have more offset. But the simple fix to TRD rim rubbers is a fender trim and slight push fwd of wheel well liner. Alignment should be 3.6+ on caster.

Hey man, I'm about to get the same setup with 6112s and 5100s in the rear. I am also adding SPC UCAs to the front to help with post-lift alignment. Getting B12 springs in rear (2" standard which apparently gives 1.5" in rear on 4R 4x4s). I have a 2023 TRD ORP with TRD Pro 17" wheels. I'm still waiting on the SPC UCAs to arrive, and the suspension work will begin at that point. I am changing out the 265 Nitto Terra Grapplers for 285 KO2s. I am a little nervous about what Circlip location to use on the 6112s because I have not come to a consensus on that with my shop - I just told them I wanted to do whatever is best to fit the 285s and end up with a small amount of forward rake (maye 1/4" - 1/2" forward rake) and that I am okay with some some minor trimming and fender liner push. I took pre-lift measurements from center of hubs to fender and basically have about a 2 1/8" forward rake. Anyway, I will post the photos after work is done, but let me know if you have any suggestions before I dive into this.
