    Hi everyone:

New member and first post. I have a 2016 4Runner LE. About 133k kilometres.

Over the last few years I've noticed my radio head unit would occasionally restart itself while I was driving. Not a big deal, didn't cause me too much concern.

In the last 2 weeks, this occurrence has increased, however it now also includes my instrument panel resetting sometimes as well.. while I'm driving! It usually restarts, but on 2 occasions I had to stop the car, put it in park and restart the engine.

Occasionally when I start the car, I notice that the clock has reset to 1:00, the temperature controls are different than how I left them, and the ability to control the car windows has changed (ie. lost the ability to control the front passenger window from the driver side etc.)

Any ideas? I had a new battery installed within the last year, probably 8 months ago.

    Thanks in advance!

Check your battery for loose connections at the terminals

Sounds like battery /power connection or ground issue

Thanks - I will go back to where I had the battery installed and ask him to check it out. I'll post back here when I figure it out.

Possibly a bad ground or if you’ve done any electrical modifications.

No modifications. The ground seems to be a common theme. I'll look at that. Thanks everyone.

Lots of electrical problems are ground related, it's a good place to start.
