I've read about balancing problems with Falken Wildpeaks and M/T Baja A/Ts. Any others?

    2. BFG KO2 265/70R17C + TRD ORP wheels
    3. BFG KO2 275/70R17E + TRD ORP wheels
    4. BFG KO2 285/70R17C + TRD ORP wheels
    5. Falken Wildpeak AT3W 275/55R20XL + Limited wheels
    6. Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/70R17SL + TRD ORP wheels
    7. (see initial balance issue)
    8. Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 265/70R17SL + TRD Pro wheels

    Initial balance issue-

    7. Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70R17SL + TRD Pro wheels (had to wheel balance + alignment after purchase due to balance + alignment issues new) - **But only used for couple hundred miles.

Same with mine. Not sure if it was related to manufacturing location or installers, but the ones I got at Discrount Tire last month balanced fine. Mine are made in Japan.

That's interesting about the Wildpeaks. I wonder if there were some batches of them that were defective and they got a lot of attention?

or I wonder if those complaints coming from those who go for cheaper wheel balance job and expect the same quality as a good shop with calibrated road force balance machine job?

Sadly we live in a world where people will post dis-information to get people to purchase other stuff.

Yep, my statements and those of many of us here are anecdotal. That's why even though there's a ton of empirical garbage out there I come here to kind of fact check stuff lol.

Now I will say this, if you get Wildpeaks and you hate them, dont hold me responsible!!:bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

For every complaint thread, there's likely a LOT of people who had success, but didn't post about it. "Hey everyone, I was able to balance my tires without issue" just isn't something most people would post.

Glad to see the KO2s go smooth, always ran them on my Tahoe & plan to put them on the new 4 runner. Very good tire I have no complaints.

My Nitto Ridge Grapplers needed a couple of times to get right. Unsure if it was the tires or the balancer.

I also had Wildpeaks, shop never mentioned a problem balancing.

My personal opinion of whats going on...

A person brings in tires or wheels into a shop either unfamiliar or unknowledable about balancing or how to use their balancing equipment. Rather than piss of a customer and be honest that it took twice as long as it should of to mount and balance, the shop can easily say it was the tires.

No problems with my Falkens, and they ride like highway treads.

Sounds like technician problems...ya know...the problem between the vehicle and balancing machine.
