Can’t order a 2022 where I am from

Hey guys, was talking to my sales rep today about my pending order in transit. He told me I got really lucky and the order banks closed for any model 4Runner a week after I snagged mine on December 1st. He said he has two vehicles coming in and Toyota isn’t accepting new orders. I said really? He said yep and referenced it getting worse in Japan with COVID/Supply chain etc.

wow no new runner orders ? That’s nuts

 

Take it as a grain of salt, salesman don’t ever know anything besides trying to squeeze a buck out.

 

There really have never been orders it is based on allocations. The dealer will try to get an allocation that fits what you want.

 

I've been sayin' that for years.

 

There is some truth to this post, a little anyway, according to my dealer they can no longer order (request) any PORT options and what they send for your allocation is what you get. I wanted a TRD PRO in lime rush and no PRO allocations at my dealer for FEB. He said maybe March for a PRO allocation (May-June delivery) but may not be lime rush. However, I'm 2nd in line and the person in front of me will take any color. He also said, Limited trims have become available lately. See a couple Lime Rush in stock a I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount over sticker (2-3K) and won't look back.

 

Strange thing is that the numbers on the Toyota 4R inventory page seems to be getting lower and lower for my local area. It used to be in the 20s and even 30s sometimes but now in the single digits.

 

When I used to monitor the inventory page looking for mine to appear, I noticed the quantity seemed to be cyclical and be related to the allocation schedule my dealer would seem to always tell me mine wasn’t included in again.

 

Interesting not sure we have the same inventory page for Canada and incoming units. My dealer is still clueless and trying to find vessel info. Apparently it shipped 8-9 days ago from Japan due into Vancouver port within the coming few days he thinks. And so I wait ….
