    Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any advice for buying a used. I am mainly looking at 4th Gen 4wd because it fits my budget best.

    However I recently spoke to a knowledgeable mechanic that warned me about the 4.0 v6 needing the head gasket replaced around 140k miles ($4000). Said to look for the V8 or a different Gen (3rd Gen seems highly recommended).

    This vehicle is going to be used as an everyday family vehicle. Just need more space than my Camry offers. We regularly make trips to the snow (SoCal) and had a bad experience with ice last winter. So the 4x4 is a plus.

    I'd really like to keep the budget around $10-$12k. Any advice is appreciated!
