I bought my 2wd 1999 4Runner a few months ago, after having it and being around others, I would love to have the ability to do more offroad. Is a 4wd swap out of reach? I would have to have a shop do it due to my lack in mechanical knowledge. The only thing stopping me from selling mine and buying another is how good and well kept the body and frame are.

If you aren’t mechanically inclined, such work would be prohibitively expensive if you go through a shop.

    Lots of goodies
You could build it into a traditional pre-runner rig.:notsure: Some fiberglass fenders, long travel with dual shocks, 33x10.5s…add an All Pro front bumper with the stinger and a winch and go wherever you want to go.

    Where are you located?

I'd be happy to lend a hand in wrenching as swapping to 4x4 isn't hard nor is it costly.

It's actually cheaper swapping a 3rd Gen 4R to 4x4 than buying one already as a 4WD; got rid of mine for the equivalent of $16k just 2 weeks ago.
