Hey guys, Im new to this forum. I was doing some research and got stuck a few times trying to find a solution to add a power lift gate to my 2021 4Runner. Since the manufactures have been discontinuing the upgrade I have been looking for a factory alternative. I found a company that offers it. I’m really not trying to pitch any product for this but I have to say the convenience was needed for me. Packing up all my camping and hiking gear has become way easier now! I don't know how more people haven't made the switch to these things.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Hey, maybe that one guy one one of the forums whose wife didn't like the 4Runner due to the lack of power liftgate will like the 4Runner now.

Interested in how long it lasts.

I had to add a small strap to the rear hatch strap just to the wife could close it.

From what I gathered while snooping around doing research a couple of the kits I saw people get have been working well for 7-8 months already with no problem. Kinda impressed me considering cheaper options I was checking out were clearly China-made and had several broken parts within the first couple weeks haha

    It's a long list...
I wish there was a quality power lift gate option available.

This is the exact same made in china power lift gate kit that has been sold by other parties. There's only one kit, many companies. The problems with these seen on the forums is the supplied electronics get water in them and stop working from that, or the power struts just quit out of the blue. It's always a gamble. If you are going to purchase this, research the company prior because they will be providing the customer service when (not if) there's a problem.

I appreciate that very much! I was also very concerned about that and found that this US company took these kits and rebuilt them to improve the performance. So they say, but they were informative, had digital instructions, spoke English, and gave me warranty for all parts! So I’m fairly confident in them and it’s performance.

So, from everything i've read on the interweb/forums there is only 1 manufacturer available for 5th gens and it is the Chinese kit that is 2nd hand sold by other companies. Is this correct? If so it also seems the only decent way to purchase it is through Ensite.
