Below average? I was wondering if anyone felt the same. I love the look of the pros but I feel like the output is average at best. I may try adjusting them higher to see if that helps the visibility and hope no one will flash at me.

Other minor issues I have dealt with include flickering when my high beams are on. About every 10-15 seconds this happens. I’ve contacted alpharex and local shop both have no solution. Also, my dad noticed how much they bounce when I was following him the other day. Made the comment “I think something is wrong with your headlights”. I wondered if part of the reason is the stock suspension and notorious nose dive.

Again I love the look but these small issues are annoying and any input would be great. Is the luxxx series or morimoto better? I’d almost consider upgrading to those if so.

The Pro's are the model that come with replaceable bulbs correct? I would check all the connections and ensure everything is connected properly.

I have the Luxx model. I have been happy with their performance.

Yes I have double checked the connections and I believe you can replace the bulbs on the pros so I may try that. I’m glad to hear the luxx model is working good for you. I’ve had the pros for two year now and I have just dealt with the minor issues. If I don’t get it figured out I’ll probably try upgrading.

Cool I would try a different set of bulbs. To be honest the ability to replace the bulbs was what kept me away from the Pro's, I didn't want add another possible layer of failure so I went with the Luxx's. As I'm sure you know the Luxx's are straight up sealed plug and play, 0 end-user serviceability.

    Where are located?

Ok I’ll give that try and I’m located in south central Kansas.

Gotcha, reason I asked was to see if you were close to do a comparison because I am curious about the Pro's vs Luxx but I'm in VA so that would be a bit of a hike haha

Let me know how swapping bulbs goes, hopefully that solves the issue.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but the Pro's come stock with halogen bulbs yeah?

I told you wrong.. I do have the luxx series. Bc I have the LEDs. I meant the nova series when talking about upgrading. Sorry for the confusion it’s been a long day. But I believe I’m in the same boat as you with inability to swap the bulbs. I wonder if it’s something to do with the 2020’s with the flickering. But I’ll still try raising the lights to help the visibility and continue asking around.

Ahhh ok. So now that we have the same headlights, how long would you say during that flicker are your lights off?

Now that I'm thinking about it I'd say mine on high beam have maybe a .25 second off flicker every minute or so. It's so fast I don't even think about it and it took me a while to actually confirm it wasn't me blinking or seeing things. This again is only during high beam.

I never really thought of it as an issue because it was so intermittent, and I rarely use my high beams, and the off cycle is so fast.

I returned my Luxx's. I hated the output. Although I'm not a huge fan of the Toyota LED's either.

Oh no kidding so yea mine only flickers off for a split second and it occurs frequently. I was concern my lights may go out at first but after two years of having them nothing like that has happened. I drive 45 mins to work each day using my brights often on the back roads and my ocd gets the best of me. But your the first I’ve heard that has noticed it as well. I originally asked about the issue last year in a different thread and no one experienced it. I’ve had after market lights on my Jeep and a previous f150 and never had the flicker.

Yea I definitely feel like it should be better especially comparing it to my wife’s Subaru and even my Jeep. It’s a Night and day difference on the output.

What about changing to the Morimoto XB Verion 2's? Would that be a performance upgrade? Or is the output roughly the same across all of the aftermarket options?

I compared the output between my morimoto v2 and a friends alpharex luxx. My output was better all around, brighter and farther distance. Even the DRL led strip on the morimoto were brighter during the day and more noticeable. He then bought morimoto and took the loss on the alpharex.

I have the Nova’s and absolutely love them. Have had zero issues with them. Also, did a lot of research before making the jump on the Nova’s over the Morimotos.

So what made you decide to go with the Nova’s?
