What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

I hit the link and it just takes me to Amazon. Any chance you remember the brand/model number? Wife has a ‘21 limited nightshade and looking for this. I know there have been mixed reviews and obstacles replacing these in these.

I have the same bulbs but amber.

 

curious to see a picture of what those look like if you have one.

 

I’d like it to be more orange so that it matches the park light and raptor lights.

 

Finally got around to adding LASfit LED low beams to my rig. They work, really nice light distribution.

 

Yeah I like my lasfit as well. It was pricey but you know what I like them a lot and they do a good job.

 

Have you set up the high beams with LEDs? I think that is my next upgrade.

 

Yep I did ALL my exterior lights with lasfit. Even did my wife’s van with lasfit. It was $700 for both our cars but man does it look SOOOOO MUCH better. I can actually see and since I am rural I don’t want to mess around with animals popping out of nowhere. I want to see them ASAP!

 

Oil change, tire rotation & lubed prop shafts....twice.

Had the weird downshift feeling when coming to a stop or after releasing the brake. Turned out my front prop shaft slide yoke was damn near dry and would bind after hard braking. Filled the front and rear yokes (contrary to common 2 pump advice) and the problem is gone.

 

Suspension and wheels installed.

I was thinking doing the DRL with amber LED color as well amber LED for the fogs..
all bulbs I upgraded to Lasfit LED.. they don't make amber color ones for what I want..

Drove around some to break it in, play in the slush and mud a bit. I definitely have found that I prefer the manual transfer case as opposed to the electronic switch that my SR5 had.

I've got my build planned out for this one as well. I'm actually really happy with the stock Fox shocks & springs, so, I'm just focusing on armoring it up a bit: Going with RCI's aluminum skids this time and Victory 4x4's Strike sliders.

Swapped out front and rear silver valances for black ones on wife's 4Runner.

 

Looks great. Just out of curiosity, do you have to remove entire bumpers to replace valances. Much better imho

 

I didn't on the front but did on the rear. I think with the rear you have to to get at the clips. I watched a video on doing the front without removing the bumper, that being said, if the front bumper is as easy to remove as the rear, I would pull the bumper. The rear was way easier to replace the valance even with having to remove the bumper. With the front you have to remove some of the clips by feel only. Took me longer to do the front than the rear.

 

Black valances looks so much better, especially on the Army Green. Now you should black out the two silver trim pieces for the top grill to complete the look…

 

I looked up those pieces to switch out. I found them through Toyota but can't tell if they are black or not. Not sure which models have that piece in black or if any of them do.

You can do the rear with out removing it but its tight, I swapped mine without removing the bumpers. Front is easy the rear was hard on my hands reaching the clips but i was able to get it done.
