New Sequoia, I’ll have to see it in person but so far I think it looks pretty sweet. Not surprised it followed the same trend to sticking to a similar design as the Tundra.

No hood scoop:cool:! I like the creases on the sides. You won’t be able to get one. Just like you won’t be able to get a new Tundra. If the new 4R comes in Smoked Mesquite???

Well since the LC300 won’t be sold in the states, this sequoia is pretty “close” to the new LC300 having the same drivetrain and looks pretty similar. If I bought one I’d swap the emblems to LC…

    I like the front end.

The rear end looks like a mini van.

So the 6th gen 4Runner, I guess we can expect ...
    • a big grill
    • those plastic TRD cover plates on the hood creases
    • V6 Hybrid (same on Tundra and Sequoia)
    • Big touch screen in the center with same layout and buttons (Same on Tundra and Sequoia)
Amazing it took them this long to figure out making parts fit multiple vehicles is a better deal for everyone.

Lost the Torsen transfer case, (major deal breaker)
Lost the roll down rear window, (moderate deal breaker)
Lost basically any storage behind 3rd row, and (minor deal breaker)
Lost fold flat storage. (massive deal breaker)

Really wanted to like the new Sequoia to replace my Tundra or the wife’s 4R. Sadly they lost much of what I loved about the 2nd Gen.

Kind of relieved actually with the sequoia being so underwhelming, saved me probably $80K.

Yukon AT4 / Denali 6.2 would be my first choice for full size SUV. Especially since their interior redesign.

Those were pretty big feature losses that people really liked about the current sequoia. I hope this isn't an indication of where the 6th gen T4R is heading... Would hate to lose the roll down rear window.

So far too me it seems that this TGNA platform is underwhelming at least on the US production side after seeing the new tundra/sequoia.

I juat read an article that guessed they'll start around 55k, with the TRD Pro and Capstone being around 80k.

The last I read, we're looking at a 4 cylinder turbo or hybrid.

This might sound completely dumb, but the roll down rear window played a huuuuuge deal in our decision to buy the 4Runner for the doggo. I really hope they don’t trash it for the 6th gen…

Didn't they keep it for the Tundra? If so it bodes well for future trucks.

Based on what I've seen and read, I really don't think a Toyota fan can have many complaints. If you pony up the dollars, you can have plenty of power and torque. The looks are good, not bland, not another rectangular copy of what others are driving (the fender creases are reminiscent of the genius creases on the Gen3 4Runner that really helped it stand out). All the toys seem to be there. I do understand that Toyota will try to get mileage out of the new design, so gripers will gripe after 5 years about how 'dated' it is, but screw 'em. And hopefully the turbos hold up with proper maintenance - hard to beat a naturally-aspirated 500k-plus-miles engine. But all in all, I give kudos at this point.

It's all guesses at this point. Toyota is crazy good at keeping secrets. Much more so than a lot of other companies. You'd think some rando dude in their supply chain would leak info, but public knows nothing.

But it's interesting seeing the similar parts / designs between the new Tundra and Sequoia.

I assume the new Taco and 4Runner will have similar sharing of parts and design elements.

I'm sure it'll grow on me but I still dislike the generic square body look all full sized are going to. They all look alike.

I like it. Wish the Pro had a panoramic which looks like it might only be on the capstone. Hoping they show the 4runner soon so I can make a good decision on either upgrading my 21 Pro 4runner to a sequoia pro or 23 4runner.
