Hi folks! Just looking for a bit of confirmation here (sorry, just started to rain when I was taking these pics). I just had the front and rear bumpers wrapped on my 21 - TRDORP. I originally requested a satin black wrap (very slightly matte) but the entire shop mentioned gloss was the way to go. They mocked up the satin, stated it didn't look right, and I gave then the go ahead on the gloss while I was off-site. Do you folks think this is too high of a shine and I should've went with the satin wrap? I may be able to push back and have it changed but looking for input before I make that move. Lastly, I can spray those logo blackouts gloss to match the bumpers easily. Thank you,

It doesn't look bad, much better than the silver, that's for sure. I don't care what the shop says, this is my vehicle, dude. I say matte, you give me the options, I still want matte. I wonder how that shiny stuff will fair if you have to scrub some bugs off of it or small scratches. I personally like the 100% matte look.
I am planning on linex them directly. Every little trail I took had tall grass/bushes between the tire tracks. Guess what that will do to your shiny wrap.
Unless you don't plan on taking it off the beaten path, it is 100% excellent.

I like the gloss better. I think matte plastic bumpers make it look cheap. Have you seen a Tacoma SR trim with the unpainted bumpers from the factory? That's what I think of when I see those pieces matte black. That's just my opinion though, everyone has different tastes.

Already sounds like you'll get half the people wanting gloss, the other half matte.

My first thought is gloss will be easier to clean of bugs on the front end and won’t stain as easily. Being ppf, it should self-repair if scratched? It shouldn’t scratch like paint does.

But I have no experience with ppf. Just thinking out loud. I prefer the matte look, but if matte got stained with bug guts, it would bother me.

Gloss is definitely a different look but not in a bad way. I did mine satin if a picture helps you compare at all.1CC0CCC9-FDCA-4FD5-B5C1-3F43F17A5802.jpg6FF5332C-5BDD-4EFC-B071-09CBD12E651C.jpg

You guys just answered this newbies question. Have 2021 TRD OR on the way and am pumped. The only thing I didn’t like was that silver front and rear. Never thought about having it wrapped.

Thanks for the all of the response and information! Much appreciated. Went back to the shop and compared gloss, satin, and matte. The satin was sharp but looks better such as the red in the earlier responses. Therefore, went with the matte and very pleased. Looks much better in person, doesnt look like the dark gray plastic you get on standard autos, and I will even now matte the other remaining graphite piece on the grill. Tks again and be well!IMG_1092.jpg IMG_1091.jpg IMG_1093.jpg

Now that I see the matte black on your rig, I much prefer it over the gloss.

I’ve got a 2021 OR in white that I’ve been thinking over the same question. Now, I will be doing mine in matte black.

Thanks for sharing the pics as it sure helped me make up my mind!!!

Then again, everyone gets to like what they want …..

Happy to help! The salesman at my Toyota dealer also has a white OR and he went with matte also. Looks great. Enjoy!

The matte finish is nice though you need to keep it clean to look good.

I like those bumpers, I have something similar on my 2013. When you’re actually bumping into stuff all the time, the scratches and gouges are better hidden.
