What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

There's several out there, probably all from the same factory...but this is the one I got:

I looked at the front/rear always on camera option that connects directly to the head unit but I wanted a dash cam too. This seemed like a better alternative. In another vehicle I used to run an always-on rear view camera and loved it for showing blindspots while driving.

EDIT: I did catch it on a lightning deal which pushed me over the edge.

EDIT 2: Not much to add for setup. I ran the wires along the edge of the roof liner. Drilled a small hole in the rear cam mounting plate so I could just mount it by pulling the middle clip on the headliner and pushing it through the plate. But as with any wire going through the firewall (for the bumper cam), it was not fun.

How hard was it to wrap? And where did you get the vinyl?

 

Added the USR blacked out taillights. It is a very subtle difference, but its nice to get rid of a chunk of chrome off the rear taillights. Not the best pics.

 

I wonder if this mirror is approved by the DOT? I posted a question on Amazon so we will see.

Got an ARB compressor installed for onboard Air. I’ve been running a 20lb Co2 for the last 20 years, but with the lack of storage in the 4Runner I opted to try and onboard air set up. We shall see how it does.

How do you like the Sony head unit? Any issues or lag? How long did you have to wait to get it from TGP? I’m currently waiting for mine..been waiting 3 weeks so far.

I found the '87 Toyota Pickup today but have yet to find the 4Runner. Surprised with how little stock is out there for hot wheels.

And don't be surprised with the markup. You can get 5 Selby cobras for the price they want for a 2018 4runner.

 

Every time I went to target or wally world, I would tell my wife I'm going to the toy section, knowing what I was looking for and could never find, she bought me two from ebay. She paid $45 for the two. You might get lucky in your neck of the woods, but not here in California. Good luck

How easy/hard is it to install these panels? Lots of drilling? Looks super clean and useful.
