installed my RSG sliders. I decided to go different than most and went with gloss powdercoat to match the mirrors/ door handles, etc on the venture. they won't be used as steps other than to wash the roof so I don't need/want any grip. I like the way it turned out.

I was going to spray them myself because I liked the idea of easy touch ups, and bought everything to do it, but they had lots of forge scale on them and prep was going to be a chore. I looked into powder coating locally and couldn't believe how cheap it was. it actually cost less than the paint/prep supplies that I had bought, so those were returned. I wish I had looked into it sooner as I would have done my skids that way too.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.

Retrofitted a 2020 non-JBL nav Entune 3.0 head unit into my 10-year-old 2012 TE. It can be done! Thanks to autoharnesshouse.com for the harness to make it possible. The newer HU allows for Carplay/Android Auto. I'm loving it so far. The only thing that doesn't work is XM radio, which is because the antenna is incompatible on my 2012.

Nice, how is the sound? Do you have all speakers functioning as with original unit? Do you mind me asking what these new units go for price wise?

I previously had the T9 until it died on me a few months back, and the sound is on par with it. It sounds way better than my original 2012 nav HU. All speakers work. "Party Mode" doesn't seem to do much now though. I'm not sure what these units go for new, but I'm sure they are not cheap. Found this HU in a salvage vehicle locally, and got it for $700. Which I feel is way cheaper than you can find them on ebay.

It's not hard. If you have them do the soldering for another $30 there is not much you can screw up.

Here's mine today, 2 psi difference and it goes off. Looks like to have it changed I'm gonna have to go to the dealer...ugh. I bumped them up to 34 today so when they drop to 32 it hopefully won't go off. PXL_20220117_132007173.MP.jpg

Rolled to 8,000 miles this morning on the drive into work. Damn it got here quick! LOVE this vehicle. wish she did a touch better of fuel economy but i knew going into it this wasn't spectacular - the inflation of fuel prices hasn't helped but what ya gonna do....

Yeah they switch us over to winter blend here also - don't recall the timing they do that.
I always get fuel at Top tier stations (lesson learned on an Acura I used to have).

I drive pretty damn conservative - not an asshole clogging up the hammer lane kinda driver. Fortunately my work drive is about 50% highway at 60mph and some urban driving 35-45mph - lights are not overly prevalent on the 50 mile drive each way - the Runner seems to like lugging along at those speeds.

She needs a bath after yesterday's salting over here as we got iced. I've always hand washed her but not able to do in the winter and have no touchless options here. Internally wrestling with the car wash trip, accepting it being filty till spring (but don't like the salt eating her) or perhaps freezing my nads off on a saturday (which cold makes my body hurt so bad not likely)

I drive conservatively as well (my driving fast days are behind me). It must be your slower highway speeds. I average 65-75 mph for most of my commute. I've never eclipsed 19.6 mpgs, but its possible winter blend gasoline was already here when I bought it last fall. I also have boring all season radials. I'll be getting ATs this spring, and hope it doesn't plunge below 18.

I hear ya on the road spray and salt. Luckily we have touchless car washes here. I won't go thru a Swirl-o-Matic myself.
