Can anyone tell me what optional functions these two blanks on the console of my '17 TRD were intended for? What purpose do they serve? For those that have options that are enabled, what do they do? Are they push buttons, or toggle switches?

I'm getting ready to install front and rear light bars, and these blanks would be a PERFECT location for front/rear light bar toggle switches that would appear to be factory instead of mounting controls elsewhere.20220115_120252.jpg

I think those are for heated seats. They have spinning dials.

Yes, my 4R has heated seats in those spots.

The Right one is for Auto Open Sun Roof and Eject Passenger  and of Course the Left one is for the butt warmer.

Thanks folks. I'm gonna knock out the dead inserts and fabricate some type of toggle switches in their place for my front and rear light bars.

    Lots of goodies
It would be nice if the factory fog light switches fit.

I now think those might be made for the dash. Mine has the heated seat switches where the blanks in the picture are. You might have to check the dimensions.

Well I just happen to be doing some work on My 2020 Trd Pro 4Runnner (adding ditch lights) and installing a Caliraised purchased switch in a blank location on the left side of steering wheel, So I took some quick pictures of the butt warmer switches and here is the Results. Take note the Butt warmer switches stick up higher than the blank.

On mine the center dash switches are different but the Switches on left side measured up. The Switches from the 2018 Tacoma Trd Pro are the same also. it was a little hard to get the tape measure to stay in place so it looks a little off.

There are two sizes of switch in the Toyotas. A “tall” style and a “small” style. You can read more here https://caliraisedled.com/products/toyota-oem-style-off-road-lights-switch

They carry both sizes at Cali-Raised and other aftermarket vendors.

Edit: it occurs to me that I’ve never confirmed whether those “small” switches would fit in the seat warmer spot. I simply assumed they would. I could very well be wrong.
