How is it there? I’ve been trying to get a weekend to go camp on the beach at port Aransas and maybe get a guided redfishing trip

Nah, Im in the process of moving from Vegas to the Boise area and so I had a load of stuff I was taking up, so I dont have to deal with it during the actual move in February. Got a few funny looks on the trip for sure :D

Yes n No, Yes Im ready for a change of scenery(trees/water)and new places to explore ...and 4 seasons. But No on enjoying the outdoors more, Vegas is actually the perfect city for a base to explore the desert southwest, which has been awesome to do and I highly recommend.

I am from Maryland and was stationed at Ft Bliss, TX (El Paso) for 18 months in the mid 80's. It was great to experience the desert and I wish I had gotten out more to explore. I had a 77 Ford Bronco at the time (last year for the original Bronco) and really regret not getting out more on the weekends or on leave to check out the Southwest. But I did miss the greenery and four seasons of the Mid-Atlantic. If I could, I would be living somewhere in the Rockies. I love to mountain bike, ski, hike, hunt, and fish, etc. One of my son's is a freshman at Montana State in Bozeman - great town! I will be hitting Bridger Bowl and Big Sky in February for some skiing. If I can pull it off (turn 60 in May), I might take a long road trip from Maryland and hit the southern Rockies and head north to mountain bike and explore as much as I can. Bucket list trip!

Turned around before I hit the dry lake, because things are far from dry. This area has the densest concentration of petroglyphs outside of Coso.

Went off-roading this morning at Sierra Pelona Ridge in Santa Clarita. Good, beginner friendly option.
