Biggest Tire on a Stock Pro

    I just picked up a 2022 Pro , whats the biggest / widest tire you can run on a Pro ?
    I would like 35’s maybe a 34” as we all know not all tires are created equal , I find Nitto Ridge grapplers to be the most accurate .
    I have 34’s on my 2020 LC 200 , with the land cruisers the biggest problem is the KDSS arm , glad the Pro’s did not uses the KDSS .
    I still have to find how modification friendly my dealer is , some how I got sucked into a platinum Toyota extended warranty , guy started out at 3k for 7yrs 100k miles and knew I was not buying one , he knew I have a many vehicles to drive and don’t put many miles , he came back with 1100 bucks for that warranty , that was pretty cheap for platinum 4yrs extra .
    Not sure if I’ll do anything but 35’s would be nice , any one running 35x12.50 ?

    I thought 275/70R17 is the biggest you can fit to stock TRD Pro.

    With a spacer kit or suspension lift you can fit 285/70R17 or 255/80r17 right?

    35s need suspension lift + body lift + body mount chop right?

    I’d like to jump to 285s at some point. But only if minor tweaking is required.

    I think I’ve read the Pro already has had the fender liner mod done at the port. Is this correct?

    Is it possible to modify the front mud flaps to make them fit? I’d prefer to keep them.

    Some brand tires will fit fine on a pro without mods. Most require a smidge of plastic modding

    they do not come with any mod to make bigger tires fit.
    You can try to use a heat gun but doubtful it will do much.

    Probably because your wheel offset is different than OEM

    Is that TRD Pro? (Sorry, I was curious missing roof rack, badges, does not seem to have that slight lift front with fox shocks)

    I know 2019 TRD Pro didn't have roof rack but that color is new. So wasn't sure if its TRD Pro.

    My TRD ORP with stock wheels did not rub with 275/70/17.

    If you want 35's without a lot of work you should have picked up a Bronco or a Wrangler, haha.

    However, if you did manage to fit the 34s or 35's on the 4Runner, you would probably want to regear the axles as well.

    It only cost $4000 for lift + tires + regear for Wrangler from factory. :D

    Just my lift cost me $4000..:facepalm:And Toyota Dealer crashed after a month..:frustrated:

    Pretty much a bargain when you think about it. Especially considering it's probably fully warrantied, and if financing you're spreading it out over five or six years.

    Room to grow too, because I think the 4.56 would probably be sufficient with 37 or 38's as well.

    (Clearly I'm the Jeep fanboy of the group haha)

    Look into a Westcott Designs pre-collar lift and you can fit 285 70 R17s on stock rims

    Definitely the way to go if you want big tires!

    The guy at my off-road shop says 37's fit (a Jeep) with a 2" lift and some minor trimming.

    Regeared and 35" from factory is crazy cheap!

    I would own a jeep in a second if they were more reliable. I want one so badly, but I drive around 3000 miles a month :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

    Yeah, I don't recall where I saw that about the fender liner, but I remember thinking that is was odd because I have not seen that mentioned anywhere else. As much as I want the 285s (purely for visual appeal), I'll probably stick with stock size the first time around. Thx

    Here is a screenshot of the Taco World tire size calc.
    Stock 5th gen size vs a 315/70/17 = 34.31" Not sure if the Pro has a bigger size than a stock SR5. Lift, UCAs and Hack away is my motto. 1" body lift makes life a little easier for 35s as well.

    I've seen the same. There was a youtube video by one of the lift or tire companies or something. I know he said something about the Pro being able to fit a wider tire or something. I don't remember any details to make this post even a little bit helpful, but I can at least confirm you're not crazy.

    Any 4Runner that comes with the TRD Pro rims from factory or put on at dealer has this "Bumper Cut". Coworker of mine has an sr5 with "blackout package" and her bumper has been trimmed to fit the TRD Pro rim. I am sure it is due to the offset of the wheel.

    This is correct its due to Offset. I don't have a Pro, but I had 285s with off road wheels (+14 offset), no rubbing (2.5"f1.5"r suspension lift). Switched to wheels with -10 offset and had significant rubbing on the front bumper, fender, and mud flaps. Removed Mud Flaps, trimmed front bumper, pushed in fender line.

    Port instructions for TRD Pro fender mod.

    Hmm, so there is a good chance mine has had the trimming and fender liner mods done. So in theory, there's a chance only the front mud guards would need to be removed. I'd be okay with that in order to fit 285s, but I don't want to do any body-mount chopping.

    The plot "thicks"..........
