There is a lot of truth to this. I get to talk to ranchers quite a bit, and they say that they are not getting the profits from the markups. It's the companies they sell to.

Both parties are complicit in this. They're both out to screw you, maybe just in different ways, and they both opened the door to the Chinese. Americans investors and American businesses love doing business with the Chinese, because profit.

I'm old enough to have experienced the Carter era inflation of the 1970's, with it's 18-21% interest rates. The long gas lines, and all the stay at home Moms that had to go back to work. And the current Administration is heading us right back to a similar situation. Elections really do have consiquences.

It seems to me that our century old anti-trust laws have been forgotten and the meat industry as a prime example. Everyone is all worried about the trillion dollar tech mega corps, and they should be worried, but the staples of life are just ho-hum concerns.
Subsidies aren’t the answer. Fair competition is the answer. The mega corps started out fair but eventually they gain too much power over the market with their large bankrolls and the economy of scale that lets them operate on modest margins, until all completion is bought up. Rockefeller and Standard Oil.

I also remember and experienced the hyper inflation of the 1970s. It started in 1972 during the Nixon presidency. Here’s a short refresher course on his bad monetary policy that kicked it off:

The Chinese issue and the problem with modern democrats are two separate and very dangerous issues. Democrats are set on ruining whatever quality of life is left in the USA.

Thanks ElectroBoy for posting this. That's a good, short analysis of what happened. One important point: It's been said that if Nixion did not pull us off the Gold Standard (which in part was required to continue to finance LBJ's Anti-Poverty Program), that the 1970's inflation would likely never been allowed to surface at that level. Removing us from the Gold Standard opened the door to endless money printing. I wonder which trillion will put us over the cliff ? I pray this gets repaired.

2016-2020 if trump was screwing me I am happy I Atleast didn’t see it, gas prices were the lowest I have ever seen them, I got a little more in my paychecks, prices of grocery’s was reasonable, and there wasn’t stadiums chanting well...we know. LGB. Very shortly after a certain person took over everything started going to shit, including our border. But hey, Atleast his butts been wiped.

You know what I meant though. You're blaming Biden for what Trump supporters are doing. And then you're posting the same classless chant here.

I am not blaming Biden for what trump supporters are doing, I am blaming him for America going down the toilet very fast. He most certainly doesn’t care about the middle class. He cares more about illegals & lazy people who don’t wanna work.

Guys in allhonesty I would tread lightly here no pun intended. I was booted from this site for 30 days for posting my views on an event in September of last year.

I have passionate views also but do my best to refrain since I get more enjoyment from talking about 4Runners here

I only offer this as word of caution so you do not get banned. I was fortunate to be allowed back in.

Did you hear that from me?

And I didn't say anything about "my side." If someone came onto a truck forum and posted "f@!& T%>@=" I'd think it's equally classless and inappropriate. And if people were blaming a global manufacturing and shipping shortage on the Republican Party, I'd think it was equally misguided and needlessly divisive.

I did not. Your post appeared to take a side, which is why I replied that way. I do agree, this is not the place to trash talk, insult political or anyone for that matter. There is a three letter post that for sure doesn’t need to be here. But, when have discourse about fuel prices, vehicle standards and requirements and stuff like that, is absolutely effected by political decisions and thus here we are.

Absolutely, but what's been posted is not how you have a constructive conversation. If someone pointed out which policies caused any of this, then great. But using it as an excuse to sling baseless crap against political opponents is going to get some pushback.

So, I had a couple articles linked, but decided to delete them.
The first was a nbcnews article that talked about the vehicle mileage standards being increased, reversing the previous administrations roll back. Again, our two party system playing yo you with us. But in this context, we continue to talk about not getting a v8 in the runner, or how the 3rd gen taco motor and transmission suck when compared to the 2nd. Toyota will have to continue work towards meeting these increased standards, thus effecting what we can buy.

the second, an AP article that talked about how the reversing of the previous administrations policies maybe helping the environment but now the added costs are hurting recovery. Be direct impact is the increased fuel costs, which then drives up other prices.

As for the shipping issues, that will get taken care of when we give more jobs to the computer drivers.
