Recommendations!

Hello!! So again, still a newbie to all of this! Looking to add new tires (Toyo Open Country A/T III; 285 is what I’d like, hopefully in January).

I have everything still stock on my TRD, and I’ll be having a local shop help with the install. They said if I wanted to to keep the Fox shocks, they could add Toytec springs; they did that with a 2021 TRD and it worked out.

Would that be a good mix or no? I’ve had a friend tell me to get the Eibach pro lift kit?

And another question would be, with the Eibach lift kit, would that require body chopping at all? I’ve read some forums that some have had to with 285’s and some haven’t?

I'm running the Eibach kit with 285 70 17 Toyo AT3's on -12 offset Rocktrix RT110'S. I ended up getting UCA's because I had a little more rubbing than I was happy with, that got my caster out to near +4 degrees. I couldn't be happier with the setup but I didn't have the Fox shocks stock. (2016 TP)

 

Westcott Designs also makes a spacer kit that would allow to keep the Fox shocks and fit 285s.

 

I'd go with swapping the springs, keeping the fox shocks and use the saved money for UCA's adding caster to push your wheel forward and possibly avoiding BMC.

 

What shocks would you recommend, by chance?

 

If you mean what lift coils to pair with the fox shocks, im not so sure since the coils on the pro are different than the rest. Id go with brands like Toytec and Dobinsons.
