Dodge? Eww. But go for it. Nobody here can validate how you feel with a vehicle, get what you enjoy and makes you happy and move on.

    I did the opposite.
Before you get the ram, google hemi tick and then google manifold bolts.
Then google hemi lifter issues, related to the tick above.
    Then google dodge lean.
Good to look under ramforum and ramforumz. Very knowledgeable and up to date. Compared to those, this forum is boring AF.
    Good luck.

Then there’s the Dodge shifter? Not really a shifter, more of a volume knob mounted on the dash. Then you will leave it in reverse and it will smash into a tree.

Nah, that shifter is awesome and I miss it. It frees up so much needed space in the center console. It’s very large and away from the controls. That ZF tranny is the best tranny ever made. Such a wide range of applications, from Audi to Bentley, from bmw to rolls Royce. If it’s good for a rolls, it’s good for a ram.
What do you mean leave it on reverse ? What kind of a driver are you ? If you make such mistakes, maybe you shouldn’t be driving.

I'm on my third 4Runner because twice I've made the mistake of thinking I wanted something else. That said, there's no time like the present to get top dollar out of your 4Runner. (Which is why I sold the second one)

If you want horsepower, then yeah. And if you get bored with cars after a couple years, reliability isn't really what you're looking for anyway.

4Runners are great for the right person, but there's no shame in not being that person.

3 of them, never again, never another domestic - currently we are looking at the 2022 Tundra. If this doesn't pan out, we going full electric

I can see if you need and want a Cummins going ram or Tradesman , I’m not hating on ram or dodge what ever we are calling them these days . I know there cars sound and run pretty good these days for at least 3 yrs , my buddy trades his in every 3 years before major problems .
I have a couple Jeeps AKA dodge technology , they both have Eco diesels , aka Italian diesel , there 3rd gen 3.0 same one in the ram truck just a little retuned for the Jeep Wrangler .
I did get a extended on both the Gladiator I have and the wrangler , I don’t consider them real vehicles , just cool toys and have not had any real problems or complaints so far I’m not a hater .
I just got rid of a 2019 GMC 3500 SRW Denali , right out of the box all the little stupid stuff , rubber strips , clips , moldings all feel off the truck , it was not terrible but in 2019 I paid 66k which was cheap compared to that same truck now is 86k .
I used the truck pretty good hauling 200k + in materials but could not tell when i traded my Toyota was also a GMC dealer got 76k trade value after 3 years used the truck and got 10k more than I paid for for it .
    I took a 2022 4runner TRD pro , no mark up and I go a big check .
I am going to need another truck in the spring , I’m going used .
I think the vehicle market is going to go stagnant once they semi conductor shortage is milked out till inflation comes and will slow vehicle sales in the next year will be a adjustment , people will be upside down in there vehicles and dealers will be flooded with too much inventory .
Just my 2 cents , don’t be in a hurry you have a good vehicle .

You have one of the most reliable, dependable and refined vehicle on the market.

If you don’t need towing, hauling or the box of a truck. I don’t see the point.

if you just want more horse power why not a magnuson supercharger. A lot cheaper than a $65k truck.

Also like the others have said. I’m done buying domestic. They have all eventually fell apart on me. I couldn’t be happier with my Toyotas.

    That’s just my $0.02.

Yea, it's bad. 26k or 96k, not ok to have "little" issues. This is what's wrong with the domestic vehicles, not even talking about the top trim. As long as people brush it under the rug as "it's normal", they will make it like that. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Well, f#@ck off, no longer on my dime.

There are plenty of stories about how Toyota replaced so many frames for Tacos and Tundras way after warranty period, miles or years. GM told me to remove the keys from my keychain on my Cobalt, after so many people died. My buddy's Ram 100k miles diesel burned to a crisp in his driveway. My 7 months old '14 Ram V6 has been at the dealer 7 times: noises in the rear diff, windows stopped working, mirrors stop working, 2 ECUs changed, steering wheel peeling off, installed wrong twice, really bad out of alignment out of the factory, speakers done after 6 months, water leaking 3rd brake light (issue known by Ram since before 2010 and still ongoing 2022, yaaaay), chrome rusted on bumper, oil pump recall (it's inside the engine), issues engaging 4x4 and so on.
My '19 hemi only had a sweat tranny seal, 10k miles, i mean, why not. I traded in at 16k mile as I could hear the friendly tick. Plenty of stories with engine failures on the whole lineup: Rams, Chargers, Challengers. And no, you don't get a new engine, you get a rebuilt by a 3rd party, who cares if the cylinders are done with the metal shavings. New engines go into the production line, you already got suckered in, you no longer matter. At the time of my Ram, it was a 7 month wait for the engine, while you are out one truck that you still make payments on.

    @Robertnguyen6688
OP, you asked the question, maybe you dont like the answer. They (Ram) always get you with the super incentives they always have. Or extended warranty. After a while, I realized that my time is precious and I should not spend so many hours a month in the dealer waiting room. Life is short. Wrong forum to ask about domestics, a lot of the good folks here have had some encounters with the big 3.

For the ones that want to know more: Ram hemi cam/lifter failure thread - https://www.ramforumz.com/threads/ram-hemi-cam-lifter-failure-thread.188978/ - lots of pics in the 54 pages and over 1000 posts. This thread always makes me feel good about my 4R. I didn't bother to check the other forums much more.

RAM and FCA vehicles are hit and miss.

You’re never going to get more for your 4Runner than right now.

There are a lot of RAMs in stock in a time of vehicle shortages. That should say something.

There is a reason the 4R is considered an old man's vehicle.

We are sick and tired of car problems. 4R's are one of the most reliable vehicles on the planet. That is the main reason I bought one. (Aside from the fact I really wanted a Suburban. But I was not gonna pay the stupid prices for one.)

I was thinking the same before Christmas to trade in my 2019 4R Limited to 2022 4R Limited. Then we decided to keep the less tech 2019.

I saw first hand glitches with FCA vehicles last week. The swaybar disconnect didn't work. We were in 4L and not crazy angle side to side. Only there was a incline. Kept flashing but didn't engage.

The biggest problem was that meetup got me Covid-19 positive :frustrated::p
