Not sure if anyone else is seeing this on their 2022, but both of my headlights have what looks like dried water run marks on the inside of the lens. Lights do not have any water in them and I am guessing it is a manufacturer defect. Can only see it when the headlights are on at night time. Is it worth bringing it back to the dealer for a replacement? Anyone else have this same type of mark? Truck has 300 miles on it. Super bummed out.

Maybe I should just remove the DRL bulb and get a q tip and just wipe the little streaks. I really hate going to the dealer.

you must really hate going to the dealer. you're gonna need a really long q tip and pretty much remove the headlight to get the angle that you need. who knows even then if that will wipe away.

Then after the dealership will tell you it’s on you as you already screwed with it. I’d get on the phone with my sales person and let know of the issue.

my 2022 had similar on the left side (driver) only and it has not had any issues with condensation (picked it up in late oct)... must just be a missed QC step in the assembly process.

I highly doubt it, but many will blame any defect they see on this new policy. If you read what Toyota has proposed carefully, the "defects" they are talking about are not visible to customers and do not affect the proper functioning of the parts. If you actually looked at the types of defects they are proposing to allow going forward, you would very likely wonder why they even considered them defects in the first place.

Assuming that the water stains are indeed on the inside of the OP's lens, it's probably condensation. Remember, headlight housings are not sealed units. They need to breath due to changes in temperature driven by environmental conditions as well as the heat of the light sources. There is actually a breather on the back side. That said, this could be due to a defective / leaking housing which would be covered under warranty.

Really crappy weather here, I’ll wait for some sunshine to see if they clear up. It’s very humid here right now so it could be causing that to become visible

If you are going to clean it, I would use a gun cleaning swab. These look like a big q-tip. You can get them in different calibers.

My 2020 ORP has the same thing. It has been there since shortly after purchase and never got any worse. Since I am getting a 2022 within a couple of months, I’m not too concerned about it.

I have a 2022 as well and noticed a strange reflection in my left headlight when I was sitting behind people at stoplights. I have to take mine back to the dealer in a couple weeks anyways as when they detailed it before I picked it up, they used the wrong cloth and left scratches ALL over the paint  I'll be bringing this to their attention as well so they can fix it and I'll update with what they say if you haven' resolved it yet!

I wouldn’t touch it, take it to the dealer. Even a q tip will scratch the lens.

I’ve looked at a few and it looks like everyone one of them have some sort of what is going on here. It is barely even noticeable but I’m super ocd about my ride. Replacement will likely be the same

I just looked at a coworkers 4Runner— same exact thing. I just looked at my 2015 Tundra— same exact thing. Must be just the way these things are made and nobody ever notices it because it is so hard to see in daylight. You out and look at yours folks… I am willing to bet you have some sort of these weird “runs”

It's a mass produced vehicle and if the light works and the cosmetic issue is that minor I wouldn't worry about it.

I will show the dealer when I go for the 5,000 mile service and ask for replacement headlights. I have also emailed Toyota Corporate. I looked at my cousins 2019 and his also has the same weird marks on the inside. Not sure what is going on at the headlight manufacturing plant but they need to change whatever they are doing wrong.

Toyota Corporate is normally useless. If you are friendly with your dealer they may be able to help but I would not expect the replacements to be any different.

what really bothers me is those weird little blocks on each headlights projection at the top ... there is another thread on this, and i just thought the dealer missed some stickers or something on the vehicle prep since i gave them only a few hours to prep and they missed a lot of other things.. turns out just a weird thing that the new headlights have...

ha!! They drive me crazy! It really is a bad LED setup. The one on the Tacoma was night and day better. It projected further and didn’t blind oncoming traffic. I never used my high beams on backroads with my Tacoma. I do it all the time now.

UPDATE: Taped a Q-tip to a wire coat hanger and sprayed some glass cleaner on the q-tip and the water mark disappeared. There are still spots I couldn’t get to but it’s not even noticeable unless you know it’s there and are looking for it. I’ll bring it up at my dealer, my good friend is a service advisor and I’m sure he’d help me out. But like someone said above, expect the replacements to be the same. I think I’ll just enjoy the 4Runner and not worry about it

Is this your first time to use your service advisor friend? I'd put less stress on the relationship and just enjoy the 4runner like your last sentence says :)

It does look like you cleaned it really well.

Well- trying to enjoy it. Just pulled up at a drive thru and could hear a rattle sound coming from underneath the truck at idle. Now 1k miles on this truck. Got it home and sound is now gone. Super aggravating.
