My 22 ORP got 19.4 and 19.2 iirc on the first 2 tanks completely stock.

Just installed 275s on TRD wheels and it dropped lol. Waiting to see how badly.

63AFE311-A6E7-428C-B2F1-FA42490B76A3.jpg I just finished installing a rear differential / E-Locker breather on the upper firewall. I used the exact parts called out on the “Wanderlost Overland” installation video.

The install took about an hour and a half with most of the time spent routing and zip tying the hose from the engine bay back to the rear diff. This was an easy $50 upgrade…

    Cheers,

I just used 4 quick fist minis. 10 bucks and a couple bolts. Rides on 2 cross bars over sunroof. Then I can use 2 to hang off the side. Then the fists on the other side shim it off the vehicle so it doesn’t bang up the paint.

Did you use the regular cruise control? I know that in my experience the adaptive cruise provides better mpg, but I'm not a fan of it.

I was going to suggest the exhaust also. I know when I got rid of mine on my Pro my mpg improved slightly, but the noise was want I wanted gone. My SR5P seems to get slightly better mpg than my Pro did.

Mrs was using adaptive cruise and after seeing bad mpg I drove without cruise somewhat carefully but no luck, almost same mpg.

I also think that roof rack was producing a ton of wind noise. May be tomorrow I will take it to car wash and see if there is any note of cross bar placement for minimum wind noise just like the note on other trims roof rails. I will check if there is any cheap TRD Pro roof rack wind deflector thing.

Is there a way to turn off the adaptive? I just averaged 15 mpg on a 350 mile trip using the adaptive. When I made the same trip in my old 4Runner I got over 20

It was windy but it was pretty much felt the same to the steering as any other trip across state passing large empty land. So per steering feel I assume its normal around 45-50mph gust? (Maybe)

Hold the cruise button for 3 seconds or so when your turning cruise on.

I think wind resistance is one of the biggest factors when it comes to 4Runner mpg. If you were taking on a 40-50mph head wind going 75mph, you'd do good to get 15mpg, IMO.

Do a little experiment next time you're on the highway and drive 60mph on the way there and 75mph on the way home (days that are windy don't count). I think you'll see a pretty good mpg difference with those different speeds. These things are bricks with wheels.

    Yep.

Just drove 600+ miles across Washington state and back. Last trip in October, I averaged 15.7 mpg. This trip, I removed the roof rack and installed the new Goodyear Ultra Terrain tires. But, I had a nasty 30+ mph head wind for the first 200 miles. I averaged 14.5 mpg on the way over.

On the way back, no headwind, but it was about 19 degrees and I was in 4wd for a bit due to ice. Average mpg this trip was 16.2.
