low RPM at a stop

    is it normal for my RPM to be like this when i’m stoped at a stop sign? i bought this car 1997 v6 sr5 and it has 0 problems but i’ve noticed the rpms are very low at stops

    600-700 is normal...for like all cars.

    What car have you been driving where it's not?

    RPMs will usually go up a bit when in Neutral or Park. When in Drive, with the Torque Converter engaged, they will drop a bit.

    If you don't have surging or driveability issues, I would say you are normal.

    I know when my Throttle Body was on its way out I was getting around 500 RPM on idle and when it tried to idle lower, it would start surging. Or with the AC on, it would start surging. A new Throttle Body and I'm at 700 now and it runs great.
