    yes or tracks very dirty.

But I wouldn't use it. If it gets stuck while down its stuck.

I was reading it could be the regulator ?, is there a way to determine what is the issue. I sprayed silicone on the tracks, it didn't help.

How slow we talking? That window does move slower than the door windows. If you think about it, it's twice the size so twice the weight, and the motor is likely the same/ similar between the doors and hatch windows.

I just timed mine and it's 3 seconds down but 4.5 seconds up. That's consistent with how it's been since new.

thank you so much for the replies and help. it takes about 7 seconds to go up, and really slows towards the top. almost stops. it is way slower than compared to when it was younger!

Are there any scratches on the window?

If you or a dealer used too long license plate bolts, they can push on the glass.

Did you upgrade your speakers? When I had them all redone, bigger magnets in the back caused mine to go a bit slower.

Hi, I have a 2010 4Runner that has the tailgate window that will not go up all the way and actually reverses and tries to go down before it gets to the top? Were you able to fix your window? Mine sounds like a weak motor and won't go all the way up with either the switch in front or by using the key in the tailgate?

It sounds like something is binding up your window while it goes up. I believe thats an anit-jam safety feature. My 4 Runner has that. If something obstructs the window as it goes up it will automatically reverse. I would bet its not the motor and possibly a worn out regulator or dirty track.

Thanks. I'm going to order an replace the back window weather strip bottom track and see if that helps because it looks pretty old and weathered. I've searched for hours on you tube for a regulator or motor replacement video for the 5th Gen or 2010 4Runner but thee are none. There are plenty of video's for the 2002 to 2009 4Runners and older but nothing for the 5th Gen. Maybe I'm the first owner of a 5th Gen to experience this issue? Thanks for the help.
