What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

The old gutter guard in the grill trick. One of the cheapest and most functional mods, ever. Pic is after a quick power wash. 15 hour road trip, came up on a hay trailer north of "lil rock". Radiator was still clean and free of debris.

I did the front last night, gained about 1.75 inch. It took about 13 turns downward from the factory setting on the coilovers to get to the level I was looking for. There's about 1/4 in of threads exposed left on the coilovers.
Before Pic is top and Post lift is bottom, my garage has about 3deg of slope down to the rear of the car.
Really happy with the new stance!

Put the Front Runner footwell water tank back where it belongs. So far, NO leaking. Next, the house battery and RedArc Redvision.

 

How much rake did you end up with

 

I left about 3/4 inch of rake. Will try hooking up my 2 boat trailers (16ft wooden skiff & 13ft aluminum fishing boat) later on and see how much the rear comes down. If it sags too much I'll probably drop the front a little more to compensate.

 

Picked up the wife’s 22 SR5 premium today and started the mod bug within less than 1hr of ownership. technically, it started before we even got the car

I replaced my tires with Kumho Venture AT51's. Immediate benefit as I really like the ride better than the Ironman All Country tires my 4R came with. Can't wait to try them out in the snow!

Omg. I now see ALL those plastic bags. I was thinking you were talking about putting a plastic bag over your head. Looking at the forum on the phone drops down the size of the pictures.

 

After 2 months, finally got these Westcott sliders delivered and mounted. Totally worth the wait. DOM/0degree/MIG welded/top plates. They really do have the best welders around. Quality is A++ install was about an hour, probably faster if I had a ratcheting wrench.

 

Do my eyes (and drinks) deceive me, or are you skilled with picture taking devices?

 

Added some side protection to the victory strike rear bumper today. After some hellish winds ripped through our area. Luckily we were out of the path of the more deadly stuff and our thoughts and minds are heavy with those that have lost loved ones and properties during this.

Installed a 200ah Ampere Time LiFePO4 battery (off of Amazon) and RedArc RedVision BMS. Then set up the back for a one-day (there and back with a stop at the CAT Scale) to the Grand Canyon, AZ. (Yes, LOTS(!) of plastic bags! But they go fast once on the road.) Next week, finish the water system...and maybe shelves.

How are you handling the ventilation from the batteries because of nitrogen?

my oem running boards with kyx steps and had the dealer swap out my roof rails for the TRD roof rack. I also have a Sportsman x grill guard coming.

 

Sorry I meant hydrogen. When batteries are charging they put off hydrogen as a chemical reaction. You don’t want to breathe that stuff in. Was curious how you are handling the ventilation for that gas.

Oh. NO. This is NOT an acid battery; this is a lithium battery.

That aside, the battery compartment is open (vented) behind the driver seat. Additionally, the BMS under the driver seat and the inverter under the passenger seat both have a CPU fan that comes on when those are warm (>98F) or in use, respectively. Lastly, above the head of the bed, there are four CPU fans that vent towards the moon roof that provides air circulation, and the windows can be cracked open too. Hope that helps.
