    Had a blow out and decided to replace all my tires at once. I know nothing about tires but am getting Toyo Open Country A/T tires. Are these good tires?

    Personal preference the Cooper Discoverer AT/3 is a superior tire. I've never been impressed with Toyo A/T's tread life. That's not to say the Toyo A/T's are a bad tire at all, I've ran them on a Chevy Blazer and Silverado without issue.

    I always due a tone of research before buying tires. Go to Tirerack.com and Tread Depot for some reviews.

    Had Toyo Open Country A/Ts on our '08 Mitsu Outlander. Got 60,000 mi on the first set and sold the car at 90,000 with the 2nd set still looking like new. Never had a flat. Great tires. - Ted

    This September, our new '16 4RT came with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. They look quite rugged but has anyone had any experience with them, durability, off-road, etc.? - Ted

    I had KO2's on my Tacoma for about 10,000 miles before I sold it. Loved those tires.

    It came with Duratracs? Was this a special package or dealer installed item?

    I ran Duratracs for 55,000 miles (285/70/17 Load D). They were fantastic tires until the sidewall failed on the highway. I would say their thin sidewalls are their biggest failing.

    PVTPablo: The sales mgr had put the Goodyears in place of whatever came standard. The rig was a demo, but only had 1200 km, about 750 mi on it. Now I'll worry about thin sidewalls, but thanks for the info. We do not do any rock climbing though, just forest service trails and similar off-roads. - Cheers, Ted

    I have been running Toyo A/T's on my 2014 Tundra Crew Max 4x4 for 2 years now and love them so touch that i actually put the Toyo RT's on my 2016 Trail. In the early years Toyo's had issues now days nothing but fun. Research the tire to what you plan to use it for is key #1. Good luck there are so many good choices.

    Thanks Jerry, I value your opinion. Have a 2106 Tundra double cab and those tires will be excellent for it. Btw, I would put locks on those tires. Send pics of the Tundra.

    The BFG KO2s are a good choice but pricey, and the Load Es they come in are tough, but harsher ride.

    I've debated Cooper AT3, Duratracs, Falken Wildpeaks A/T3W, and Toyo. I've pretty much narrowed it down to Wildpeaks SL Load 116T for a good mix of Daily + light / medium trails.

    If I were doing harder trails, perhaps the KO2s or the Toyos.

    Money no object? Probably KO2 or Toyos.

    Duratracs are ok, and better than most people say they are, but still nothing special, and I'm not a fan of Goodyear.

    Not sure. I didn't notice a snowflake on the sidewall but most any A/T is going to do well in the snow.

    KO2's come in load range C in 265/70/17. That is what I run and they are awesome. Don't buy load range E, to heavy and way overkill for our 4Runners.

    Falken Wildpeak AT3/W E-Range tires. LT265/70/r17 - Factory suspension, no rub even when stuffed. Ride wasn't noticeably any different going to E-Range.

    Paid $630 to my door with Discount Tire Direct, then another $70 to mount/balance.

    The Toyo A/Ts are great tires, and get through most terrains with out a problem. As long as you rotate your tires they will last you. Plus toyos have a great 60,000 mile warranty.

    ARB BP-51 suspension, T-13 coils, BF Goodrich AT2 275 70 r17, Gobi rack, black oak LED single LB.

    I have run The toyo's on my tacoma and my old nissan frontier, and loved them. I just switched to the falken wild peak's and am seriously impressed. Snow rated Plus they get a 55k tread life warranty and are much cheaper than the toyo's. That being said, this Toyo RT's look great too.

    That was my old set up, but i have a 3” lift (both old and new setup). I removed the front mud flaps, and trimmed the front fender and zip tied it to secure it, (the fender liner mod is the better route to go, but i did not know then). Also to accommodate you may need to do body mount chop mod i personally did not, but some may.

    My shop did a lot of trimming but did not do a full BMC, but in some cases it is better just to do a BMC

    Also depends on your tire, wheels and suspension setup, some vary in the amount needed to be trimmed.
