    Hello,

I've recently purchased a 2014 4Runner that is in excellent condition.

It has one trait that I have never experienced before. It is always driving the wheels. I can take my foot off the brake at a dead stop and it will accelerate up to about 5 mph.

It's good for coasting a long way but I worry about excess brake wear. Also it is a little bit like trying to reign in a somewhat headstrong horse when I just want to coast to a stop or need to slow down for bumps etc.

I'm just wondering if it's normal or not.

    Thank you.

I’m with Jim, sounds like way high idle.

what rpm is it at when takes off from stop with no throttle? 520

How long or far does it take to get to 5 mph. (oops!) never. Sorry! I did that test just once soon after starting it after work.

What rpm is it at when in drive stopped with foot on brake? 550

I'm thinking you might have good news for me?

Around a 116,000 miles. Brakes seem good. Rear brakes replaced at 73,000 miles. Brake pedal feels good and responsive.
