How long at the port?

My dealership is in this https://www.4runners.com/threads/msrp-dealerships-list-them.20301/ thread. Document these guys that gouge (or try). We could let them know that the community (their bread and butter) are watching and taking notes. My local dealer is on the list of shame in that thread (Colorado Springs - $12.5k market adjustment), but my car will be going to a dealership in Tennessee that is listed as one of the MSRP dealerships on the list. My Toyota app takes it for granted that I will use the local for servicing - I will be changing that to a dealership near Denver (I go up there on regular basis). The local guys can pound sand

 

whats a large markup on a pro, 5k, 10k, 15, 50? anything over MSRP, I consider a large markup. Prior to this mess, invoice was the accepted deal, so MSRP should be the accepted deal now.

I agree and will get as close to that as possible! If my paperwork showed $59k on the ‘21, I’m not holding my breath on the ‘22. Sad, really, them taking advantage like that.

 

Every dealer I contacted in my search I told them directly (if they had a markup) that we were documenting a list online and that the list would live on long after the current supply chain crisis. I also told them that there are enough dealers who are NOT gouging to keep us supplied, if we are patient, and that, hopefully, they will see a big decline in future business for both sales and service because they are taking advantage of hard working people.

 

You've got a good mindset. I hope it works out for you, I really do. But definitely stick to your guns and don't let the dealer try and leverage you with the market if you already have an agreement in place. In my case, I went into a dealership who I have never dealt with before but are very reputable in March. The salesman told me I could "order" a Lunar Rock Pro as long as I got the order in by mid April and it shouldn't be a problem. He said "we don't discount them but we don't mark them up." I had no reason to believe any of that would change. Left a $500 deposit and waited until late September to get it. When I get to the dealer to pick it up, the salesman tells me management was pressuring him to call me and tell me $5000 market adjustment. Luckily, the salesman had a conscience and told them he can't because I just waited 6 months. But they were gonna try, and even though I really wanted it I would not have paid it. He also said there were 3 Pro orders the dealership had that didn't get fulfilled. I have no problem with a "market adjustment." But I have a major problem with a market adjustment after an agreement was in place whether it be on paper or verbal. Don't let them get you. Good luck!

 

Nice to have an honest salesman on your side! Toyota cancelled my allocation for the Lunar Rock due to the port issues and moved me to a ‘22. No paperwork yet because we don’t have an allocation on an actual car yet. Been waiting since August just to have Toyota pull the plug was pretty weak sauce but I’m getting excited for the lime rush now so all good. Everything’s gonna work out beautifully…. My intentions are strong lol.

Light at the end of the tunnel My dates seem to be Dec 7-12 and I'll have to fly out to TN to get it. Like everyone, I can't wait...

 

My salesman told me 11/16 - 11/22 from Portland. When I contacted him on 11/15 for an update, he said it is pushed back to 11/30 - 12/5.

 

Still light in the tunnel - it's at the freight stage - not sure where you are, but it's on it's way and that is the important thing
Find myself looking at goodies now - not sure what to get, if I should get, etc. Only thing I've ordered (because of lead time) are RSG Sliders so wife can get in) - newt up will be tint and clear bra (Colorado, go figure - rock-n-sunshine)

 

So close, yet so far. I already have the TRD skid plate, trail running boards, AVS hood/window deflectors, and a dashcam/wiring kit taking up space in my spare room. Freight to Minnesota.

I feel your pain. Toying with saying f it and pulling the trigger on suspension, tires and sliders. Got a pile of stuff already...

 

Lol I have wheels and 275 Falkens bought.

And a compressor, pro grille, and a few other things staged in the closet. My LR ORP is due in first week of December.

10/22 - Left Japan
11/05 - Arrived in Long Beach
Currently in process at port with estimated arrival 11/23-11/28

 

I wouldn't get your hopes up. My GX sat in Long Beach for 2 months with a month of that being after it was processed. I just picked it up on Friday.

 

Just got a message from Longo today--it's arriving at the dealership tonight, will be ready to pick up tomorrow!

 

And just like that I was given a new estimate of 1-3 Dec for arrival...

 

My delivery timeframe moved back a couple days as well (9-14 Dec). Worried about pushing into holiday travel season that really kicks off on 18 Dec. I have to fly from Colorado to Tennessee and want to avoid the extra crowds and $$$ the holiday season would bring. Crossing my fingers for earlier...

 

Where is yours? Is it still at the port? Mine took just short of 30 days to add...floor mats Mine is in freight status and has been for the last couple weeks...

 

the floor mats must have been on a container ship waiting to be unloaded.

 

I'm guessing it's "awaiting freight" if that's a good description - I originally was kind of expecting mid-Jan, but things firmed up and I was told expected delivery of 7-12 Dec, now it's 9-14 Dec. My Toyota app kicked to life (in it's limited fashion) last week with Fuel and odometer reading as as well as "Vehicle Alerts" coming over phone and App notification screen. All started on 11/17 and stopped on 11/20. While it was on, I assumed it was in processing and when it stopped, I guessed it was staging for freight - still playing the "Where's Waldo" game

 

Would be hilarious if they both arrived at the same time...

 

My delivery date pushed to Dec 7-12 after initially being this week.

Just noticed my app updated couple days ago showing 1 mile and a small amount of fuel.

Been in port since 10-18 if I recall. 22 ORP in Lunar Rock.

 

@Slimwood Shady - that would be strange (as if anything can be considered "strange" anymore), but yours is up for delivery a good week before, so I'm hoping you get it then (or earlier).

@Hydro556 - where is yours being delivered to?

 

Mine will be delivered in the st Louis metro area.

 

Sorry if this is a total newb questions, but what is the "app" of which you speak? I'm awaiting a new TRD Pro... is there an app ?

 

It’s the Toyota app. You can enter a vin to get your cars info.
