This is in my bucket list.

Me and few friends was planning this since few years and our biggest fear was fuel and accommodation. Anyone knows if this is doable in summer with stock fuel range? None of our 4Runners are heavy that kills the fuel range. Is this doable with stock fuel range and are there hotels available?

I wonder if my Limited will be better choice (driving in H4F center diff free) vs TRD with 4H only (no option for free center diff) to save fuel. May be?

The wife and I were gonna do that trip next year. 6 week trip, 2 weeks camping in the Canadian Nat'l Parks and 3-4 weeks in Alaska. The hotels/cabins in AK are already paid for. With this covid B.S. we are concerned it won't happen.

Thanks for that video. Looks very cool.

An acquaintance did it to Prudhoe Bay in a Suburban. He carried a 5 gallon gerry can but didn't need it. Fill up in every town and you should be O.K. May want to get a copy of this book, The Milepost.

Definitely need to find all the resources. When I look for gas stations and hotels on Google maps it was scary. I think Google map is not capable of helping to plan a trip like this.

Gas shouldn't be a problem, if you fill up when you can. Between Dawson Creek and the Alaska border, hotels/motels are few and far between. If you pull in early you may get a room. Pull in late without a reservation, you're probably S-O-L. We will be camping. Looks like there are a lot of options but it will be rather chilly.
