Hey guys, new here. Got in a bit of a pickle this weekend, want to hear your thoughts on the below.

Took my 2018 4Runner off-roading in the desert this weekend and left with some damage to the rear left bumper extension. I tried to go over a soft sand burm through a narrow pathway and I think I banged the bottom of my rear left fender against the ground. Didn’t really notice it until I got back to camp.

I think/really hope this is nothing too major, I’m getting it appraised tomorrow. To me it looks like the force of the fender hitting the ground dislodged the bolts connecting the bumper and the fender well. I feel like they can lift the bumper back into place and rebolt it, then reattach the top portion flush with adhesive if the clips are busted. There’s a bungee above the hitch that’s been exposed, not sure if that’s a big deal or not.

What are your thoughts? I would love to get this repaired without having to order a whole new bumper.

Is there damage to the sheet metal. Is that a bungee, or is that wiring? Looks like wiring to me.

If no body damage, then it’s probably just unclipped. I would search out youtube to look for rear aftermarket bumper installations and see how they remove the bumber cover. Then do the opposite to try to reinstall it.

Either that, or just take it to a bodyshop. Might not be that expensive
