Said i would make an intro now after obtaining my new rig lol. I reside up in North Whidbey Island in Washington State and just picked up a 22 ORP yesterday that I ordered it back in mid-August. I am a gearhead at heart, so I had already been looking up parts and whatnot ahead of time while i waited for the 4runner to arrive. Definitely not new to forums, so I'll be hunting tech sections and reading up on all that I can lol.

Kinda new to toyotas, but not really. I've never personally owned one but have help friends numerous times on their's lol. I hail from the Mitsubishi camp myself, have had about 5 g1 and g2 Monteros previously but now needed something a bit newer than my 94 Montero SR with all my current driving. That and i have enough projects already, i didn't have the time to add another to the list, let alone really afford the down time for all the maintenance it really needed, like an engine overhaul since it pulls daily driver duties. I wanted something to my SR, and once i saw there was a locker available on these, i jumped on it as well as got the KDSS with it too. Out of all the vehicles I've owned, this is honestly the first time I've bought brand new and been the original owner lol...project car life, we never buy new lol. I'll probably keep it till the wheels fall off, I'm not big into trading a car in just to have something newer. I liked that the engine bay actually isn't cramped as new as it is.

So far I'm pretty happy with it as it is, i know i heard a lot of complaining about it being a 5spd auto, but coming from a 4spd...this so much nicer! Working construction this rig will see a lot of miles and travels while also occasionally going off road and camping.

Anywho here's a couple pics, 2nd pic is my 94 Montero after 4 days of camping and exploring by Mt. Hood then offroading and more camping outside of Scappoose, OR.20211106_162454.jpg 20200601_122037.jpg

I don't have any other Montys anymore, but here's my few other Mitsus lol. My Starion/Conquest is pretty much sold now to a aussie friend of mine, so we are just waiting till after the holidays to ship it overseas to him. The wagon is getting a vvti 1uz swap currently as tome permits lol.20201228_161809.jpg 20200424_190107.jpg 20191026_170725_001.jpg 20180616_143148.jpg

As for the 4runner, looks much better with the bronze wheels than the silver ones lol. I was just down in Oregon City last weekend for part of the weekend. So far i love this thing, got about 3900 miles on it since bringing it home on Nov 6th lol. Now i get to see how long it takes to get plates ad WA has a lic plate shortage lol.20211126_163411.jpg

My parents are full timers on Orcas island. Beautiful area. Plenty of mud to test your rig.
