Took the runner in for the 5k service. I told the rep about this squeaking/clunking sound coming from brakes. She said there is a service bulletin for bad pads and hardware. Here in Montana, just about everything has to be ordered, so the parts should arrive by Friday. Good to know we don't have to live with those sounds anymore.

I second this, mine squeak so bad especially in lower temps. Curious to see if I would be affected.

    Service bulletin was T-TT-0636-20.
The dealer resurfaced the rotors and replaced the pads and all associated hardware. Now we have no squeaks and clunking sounds. All covered under warranty/TSB.

Thanks for sharing this information. Under what applications did you have clunking?

It always squeaked but the clunking was on bumpy roads with low speeds.

Update for 2021 Toyota. It still happens for this year as well :(.
Toyota does not have TSB released for 2021 model so owners should wait.
Attached my dealer visit conclusion. Take a look at highlighted part:

I noticed my brakes squeaking every morning shortly after buying my 21 ORP. I took it in to the dealer. This was before the above mentioned service bulletin. I also recorded the brake squeaking on my phone and shared this with the service manager. They couldn’t replicate it the day I took it in and since I shared the video they asked to keep it overnight and the next morning he did observe the excessive brake squeaking. They tuned the rotors and replaced the pads and problem solved.

Do you mind share similar document as mine (if you have one) so I'll be able to point dealer into it and actually solve my issue? Thanks!

i don’t have any documentation other than the video I shared with the service manager. When I called in to schedule an appointment I explained what I was experiencing and since I hadn’t driven through water and the weather wasn’t a factor I knew it was probably faulty pads. I also checked to make sure I didn’t have a rock between the rotor and the Pad. Having the audio from the video was key to having them take it seriously I believe. Hope this helps.

Watching for updates. I haven't noticed this on my 21' yet. I haven't taken a wheel of on the front yet but if these have calipers like the Tacoma's those you added a second retaining spring to help the clunk that happened after you reversed and then applied brakes on the first stop.

Reporting back, I'm at about 1k miles now and my wife told me today that everyday here brakes are making noise. So I will monitor and see if it keeps doing it or getting worse. She said it does it excessively first thing in the morning and her first couple stops when leaving from work.

Anyone know the timeframe in which the dealer will address this under warranty? Aren't brakes a shorter warranty period than other components? I have the squeaks over bumpy roads as well.

Has anyone had any luck on a TSB for the 21' models yet? Mine are squealing pretty bad now that its cooler out after it sits for a little while or when i first start out after being parked when its raining.
