SOS,disengage 2002 auto 4wd

    Hello,I'm a single mom and this is our only mode of transportation,4runner sat for a while and had to end up changing the battery bc damaged cell and a fuse that said alt. ..4runner working but now check engine light is on and vsc Trac as well as some other track light. The Rpm start at 2 without my foot on gas..I thing the 4 wheel drive is on and I have to press the gas pedal extra hard to go anywhere...please advise and thank you.

    Yes but they have one. They will read the codes for you for free. Pull the codes and that will tell us a starting point for the issue. I'm not saying we're going to nail it but at least have an idea of a possible issue or issues

    I was able to get one of those code readers,said something about an actuator?

    If figured that. There are 4 of them in the 4x4 system that go out from time to time and you will get that flashing light and it will not kick in. The bad thing is pinning down which one it is and putting a finger on it. And you can't return them to Toyota once they are opened because it's electrical and special order most the time. Most people replace all of them at one shot.
