The time has come to finally put one together. This will be a maintenance log and build thread also. It's for the most part mild more daily drive but she holds her own on the trails. I will be updating this as I go along. All maint records will be updated so there is a digital copy as well.

I'm pretty heart broken about selling my SAS rig so it's time to turn my focus to the rig that started it all.

This is how she sits today. She has been my gear holder, extra parts holder and just waiting for her new engine to be dropped in so it can eat up some trails once more.

She lost her engine after the head gaskets went out at 271,000 and has been chilling in the garage since.

Stay tuned and watch her come back to life.

    Blue

New Engine- This was pulled from a 02 4runner I saved from a crusher. All the power train was pulled.

This is the engine that has been rebuilt by hand from a short block up. Everything has been gone through. All parts and gaskets are fron Japan. I had to wait to get the engine kit from the distributor but it was worth it.

All gaskets are metal or copper all are a min of triple layer and the header gaskets are six layer steel. Oops did I say that to early? All studs are replaced and also all locking nut are new also.

Every headbolt is new and marked and torqued as they should be and 90 degree turns until they are at correct spot because of the torque to yield bolts.

    Reserved for further....

So Toyota wanted a fortune for this wire because it's part of the whole wire harness. Well BS on that. Fix the temp sensor wire harness for around six bucks with everything and the good connector.

I love your 4Runner. Ol' Blue, I noticed in the picture of your 4Runner in March '16 "the 4Runner that got us to this beautiful place" that you are not running with a spare tire. My spare is '265 and the tires on the ground are '285's. I'm nervous about taking my 4Runner on a trip without a matching spare. I'm running Toyo Open Country MT's with an E rating. Do I need to just man up?

Well now that I'm not spending time working on the 99 I will turn my focus to this. I will be going through my maint log and doing a digital copy of it also.

    Stay tuned
